Pittsburg,PA The school district has not confirmed that a mold problem exists, but have taken measures to fix the unspecified issue. " We presented them with that information from 's, " said Colleen Interval, a Trinity student's mother. " They still voted to encapsulate it. " The product used to encapsulate the mold is designed to encapsulate asbestos, but has not been tested for the treatment of mold. Parents allege that the buildings have mold that have caused children, faculty and staff to become ill. " My son, since second grade has had a horrendous cough that started every school year in September and ended in May, " said Sachek, a Trinity student's mother. In the medical report for a faculty member, stachybotris was detected on three different swab cultures. Stachybotris is found in toxins rather than allergens, a fact that leads parents to believe that mold is present. " I think their thing was to start school on time, " Sachek said. The school district has now allocated $20,000 to take care of the issue.
