Guest guest
Though I would LOVE to have a doggy, there is a big $ deposit for doggys or cats at our apartments. Only disabled people are eligible at that so I qualify, but I don't have an extra months rent! Anyway, we have a little parakeet...and I NEVER thought a birdy would be so much company & joy. He plays, he sings. He even eats his dinner when we do! And at 8:30 every night he peeps until we put his bedtime sheet over him and off he goes to sleep. He will be 7 in December, and though his name is Crackers, I usually call him My Bubby Birdy. Love to All... Tess
Guest guest
When my children were young, we had the most wonderful puppy...Maxy the Wonder Dog. He was 1/2 black lab 1/2 Irish Setter. He looked more Lab - was all black, and probably not the smartest puppy on the planet. But a big, ol' sweet moose of a dog who loved the kids so much. If I was having a hard time, I'd go out on our back deck in the middle of the night. We lived way up in the hills, and could see the lights of Portland from 30 miles away. I'd hear a klump...klump and there'd be Maxy. He would come right next to me, put his front paws on the deck railing and snoodle his big ol' wet nose in the crook of my neck. If that isn't love, what is. I miss him to this day. Love... Tess
Guest guest
Ask any child...... " All Dogs Go to Heaven " and I'm sure cats, birds, etc do too. I couldn't imagine not seeing all of my loved ones there. Jan in CA :=) Auntblabbie2000@... wrote: Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends, so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together. ~ Author Unknown ~
Guest guest
My cat, the very same one the doctors told me to get rid of seven years ago as the " cause " of my reactivities as described in Mold Warriors, is a " MoldKittyWarrior " . When we get caught in a plume, she jumps up on me, looking me squarely in the eye and YOWLS, as if to say " You idiot. What are we doing here? " She's a great little fuzzy mold avoidance motivator, since I hate to see my furry pal in pain - so we do what needs to be done. -

My cat was a moldwarrior and even with cancer she survived 3 years. He would have made it without the mold; he was my best teacher. Meow cat was molded out by our creepy landlords and let me know we were NOT going back. That building should be burned to the ground.... I just ordered my copy of " Mold Warriors " . BTW, I did enter my story in the Boston Globe..I hope it was coherent. This group has been terrific and I want to thank all of you for being here--especially K.C. A few days my Osteopath called me and wanted to know if she could refer one of her patients to talk to me. A first-- a doctor calling me for information! I do have a feeling it was about a tenant's right to clean air. We don't have those rights. Lori and Meow Cat
Guest guest
Your question brought to mind the bearded dragon lizard my son got when we lived in our house. He was so excited to have her, but poor thing didn't stand a chance. She never thrived. We went from doctor to doctor. My daughter even hand fed her--no one could figure out what was wrong. Of course, she died. Our dog was incredibly " youthful " (vet's words) for a dog his age when we moved in. He developed canine cognitive disorder (similar to alzheimer's). We were all too sick to realize the meaning of his bizarre behavior. He reached the point where he didn't recognize us and got aggressive. I am wondering about effects and symptoms other's have noticed in their cats and dogs.
Guest guest
Does anyone know if it may affect pets more due to their smaller size and perhaps proximity to floor which may have more allergens on carpeting especially??? > > Your question brought to mind the bearded dragon lizard my son got when
Guest guest
My beautiful dog Chloe suffered with a rare case of a skin type lupus. Her body was attacking itself. Part of her ear was eaten away. Finally the vet figured it out. She was on tons of meds. We were able to keep her going until age 15. I had to put her to sleep last Dec. Now I believe it was due to my moldy home which i am no longer living in. Our poor animals, it soooo sucks. But, now we know and maybe can warn others. felice
