Guest guest
Dear Dr.Ajith, Greetings. It is true that there is discrimination from medical set up. I have been telling people for almost a decade that if doctors discriminate PLWH, then the discrimination will worsen. What I am trying to say compared to all other states TN is much better. More doctors are involved and in greater depths. This is pointed by non-medical people who don’t perceive the accidental risk which doctors face. I would appreciate if such people reach doctors and find what could be the reason for them fearing to treat PLWH. Many have expressed that PEP and disposable are unavailable. It is high time we see that such things are provided. Doctors in government sector are still worst. They are not provided enough protective materials yet they are forced to see patients. The infrastructure, disposable and PEP should be attended. Government, NACO should start ART atleast for doctors who have had accidental pokes. Doctor’s knowledge on universal precautions has to be stepped up. Let us provide and then bargain. Otherwise those who are already in service will also get upset. Many a times’ people have praised stalwarts. Why not nurses or a resident intern. Boost their morale. Things will change. As you mentioned CMC, Perundurai Medical college Dr.Manoharan and many have been left. Dr.Manorama e-MAIL|:<pmanorama@...>
