The Sunday edition of the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado printed two stories

today on MCS

see:

http://www.dailycamera.com under the " news " tab - scroll down (if it's after

Sunday, might have to do a search for Sunday's new articles)

Stories were:

1) about customers like me boycotting Wild Oats choice to carry toxic laundry

products like Bounce and Tide

2) about " how hard it is to diagnose chemical sensitivity " ??

While I was happy that they are publicizing the issues, I was very disappointed

that they made MCS seem so controversial still and potentially psychological

(like we need more people wondering about that). They even used an anti-MCS

source, Pacheco, that some of us know very well is paid to have a certain

political position (and paid by Clorox to do their research), which is really

too bad.

The other problem was that, despite all the information I sent the paper, they

didn't list any of the toxic chemicals in Bounce or any of the other products.

I welcome others to read these articles and comment in the letters to the editor

(see email address below). If you would like it to be published, perhaps don't

mention that you aren't from Boulder, CO!

Feel free to write how MCS is very real and we desperately need support not

controversy --- imagine if others ever called cancer controversial, simply

because you couldn't " see " it. Feel free to point out how long it took the

public to believe that tobacco caused serious illnesses (50 years plus).

I also welcome others to write about what actually is IN Bounce that makes it

toxic, as the article reads like I'm just sensitive because of my body and not

that the product is actually dangerous.

On that note, I'm wondering if anyone has THE SOURCE for the chemicals that many

of us often list are in Bounce. I get this information from other sites, etc,

but would like to know if these are from actual MSDS sheets, or the EPA, or??

when I say there's choloform, etc etc in Bounce.

I think if I personally write the paper again at this point, it will look like

one nutty lady on a rampage, so I welcome others to write.

And fyi - they completely took out the part that, while I was first sensitized

after 9/11, I didn't actually " crash " into debilitating MCS until I lived in a

house that was covered in black mold (stachy and aspergillus). I guess that

isn't as interesting or " sexy " of a story maybe?? It was strange that they left

that out - as it's how I lost everything I owned, how I completely tripped into

being disabled despite the previous toxic exposure, and a very common theme with

people who trip into MCS.
