Guest guest
Well as you all know my daughter (10) started CSM treatment Sunday. Everything was going great. Then last night she came running home from a friends saying she was going to puke. I gave her 7-up she burped and was fine. Then after her last dose at 9 pm she went to bed, and about 1 hour later complained of a stomach ache. I gave her more 7 up. She went to bed and woke up at 11 pm screaming and crying (brought back bad old memories of our moldy house days) saying she was going to puke. I gave her some tums. Finally, around 4 am she went to sleep. Have any of you had these stomach problems while starting the treatment. If so how long did it take for your stomachs to get used to it? What did you do to make it feel better? He gave me a prescription for Prevacid ($175.00 and for adults). Does it feel like gas? She has a VERY sensitive stomach. I will call the office later, but it sure would be nice for some of my moldy family to give me some insite. I would feel better if I knew others had this too. Guest guest
Sorry, I have never had any bad symptoms from Cholestramine- but pepsid ac is not that expensive -might settle the stomach- I never had any luck with Tums, AS CALCIUM IS THROWING GAS ON A FIRE, never could understand how they sold it for heartburn , " " <blackmold@w...> wrote: > Well as you all know my daughter (10) started CSM treatment Sunday. > Everything was going great. Guest guest
I can't even take small amounts of CSM without getting terrible stomach pains and GERD even on Aciphex, but I have had digestive problems for a long time. I also tried Carafate, but it didn't help either. Maybe try a smaller dose. Dr. Shoemaker also mentions Welchol in some of the literature as an alternative. Maybe you could ask him about that. <blackmold@...> wrote:Well as you all know my daughter (10) started CSM treatment Sunday. Everything was going great. Guest guest
Maybe she was exposed when she went out? I can't be exposed to any mold without breathing repercussions, it might not be responsible for her upset stomach, but theother stuff could be something she inhaled during the day- mine is a delay reaction of sometime several hrs. > > Well as you all know my daughter (10) started CSM treatment > Sunday. > > Everything was going great. Guest guest
CSM can cause acid reflex and also intestinal discomfort. I think Dr. S. says it tends to subside over time. It seems like I read within a week or two.
