An international collaborative HIV/AIDS prevention and control project

involving three Canadian institutions and the Government of India, funded by

the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Seeks applicants for

one Technical Consultant position for the state of Rajasthan

The objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of the Rajasthan

State AIDS Control Society (RSACS) and its implementing partners to develop,

implement and evaluate effective HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support

programs. The project will be implemented collaboratively with RSACS.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of Technical Consultants include helping RSACS in three

core areas:

· Information, Education and Communication (IEC)

· Condom Promotion

· Care and Support

It also requires to plan, strategies, design, and supervise

blocks/district/zonal level HIV-AIDS program related to the above three

component, working with state/ district government machinery and

co-ordinating external and local project inputs, monitoring, evaluation,

appraisals, planning and organizing Zonal/ District/ Block level plans,

providing technical support to governmental, non-governmental and academic

institutions involved in HIV/AIDS prevention and care activities.

Profile of candidates:

Post-graduate degree in a health, social, development or management related

discipline, with at least five years of experience in relevant health

projects, preferably qualified from a recognized educational institutes

and/or working with reputed organizations. Experience in working with

government and non-governmental organizations are important, as is fluency

in Hindi and English, with excellent communication skills. Experience in the

HIV/AIDS field is an asset.

The job profile of the person is based on specific tasked as mutually agreed

by ICHAP and RSACS. The candidate will work in accordance with the drawn

Terms of reference, and will be seconded from ICHAP to RSACS for the

contractual period of 2 years. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with

qualifications and experience.
