Guest guest
The British HIV Association (BHIVA) is indeed one model that could be taken for professional development among Indian HIV prescribers. BHIVA is a partner with NAM in our www.aidsmap.com website. A similar organisation, which should also be examined, exists in Thailand where an annual training course for HIV physicians has formed the basis for a professional association. This was described at a seminar at the International Conference on AIDS in Barcelona last year, sponsored by AmFAR, as part of their TREAT Asia initiative. There is a webcast of the meeting available for anyone who has a sufficiently good internet connection. Further information about TREAT Asia is available at: http://www.amfar.org/cgi-bin/iowa/programs/globali/record.html?record=170 NAM is the specialist HIV information provider, working in partnership with the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, offering a global service - including a directory of organisations -- through www.aidsmap.com Sign up for our free email newsletter 'HIV & AIDS Treatment in Practice' and/or the weekly bulletin on what's new at aidsmap.com, at: http://www.aidsmap.com/components/subscribe.asp n Meldrum, International Editor, www.aidsmap.com NAM, Lincoln House, 1 Brixton Road, London, England SW9 6DE +44 (0)20 7840 0061 (direct line) +44 (0)20 7840 0050 (switchboard) +44 (0)20 7735 5351 (Fax) E-mail: <julian@...>
