Guest guest
I'LL BE BACK, HATTIE... Sunday, 23 October 2011 Today is kind of a "sweet and sour" day for me. After I finish my last bit of packing, I'll spend my last hour-or-so at home with Hattie, my special and sweet Dalmatian. This is the "sour" part of my day. I mean, I have to leave my precious Hattie for seven days and yep, it'll feel more like seven years being away from her! Today, our beautiful Carnival cruise ship leaves port for the Mexican Riviera on our Hooray For Hollywood Cruise To Lose. Hattie and are like, well..."married." I'm telling you, she's my true love. I really don't have anyone else in my life like her. She shows me so much unconditional love, kindness and devotion. I'm telling her where I'm going and making sure she knows...I will be back. Before the car pulls away from the house, Hattie's will be the last sweet face I see. Okay, let me stop crying now because here comes the "sweet" part! Today, our beautiful Carnival cruise ship leaves port for the Mexican Riviera on our Hooray For Hollywood Cruise To Lose. Boy, the ship's crew is going to be amazed at how much wardrobe I have to bring along for this fabulous voyage! We'll board the ship about mid-morning and I'll be escorted to my cabin where I can begin my unpacking. That should take at least an hour. Then I'll spend some time in my room going over my notes before heading down for our Bon Voyage Party in the beautiful El Morroco Room. It will be our first event on the ship and the first time many of us get to meet before the ship sets sail. And oh, I can tell you, there's gonna be a whole lotta hugging and kissing going on with my Cruisers. During the party, we'll take lots of photos and I'll introduce everyone to my staff. Each of my staff members comes up on stage, says hello and introduces themselves. I want my Cruisers to know my staff and I'm sure they'll get to love them every bit as much as I do. Now every day on the cruise, we'll honor a different major Hollywood studio and talk about some of the movies they've made. Today on day one, we'll give a big shout out to Paramount, the oldest studio in town and the only one still actually headquartered in Hollywood. Paramount's long list of great movies includes Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. But the list goes on. There's Chinatown, Forrest Gump and Cameron's Titanic. After dinner, we'll meet up again for orientation where I'll go over all of the many things we'll be doing this week. We don't have a lot of time in our Bon Voyage party because we all have to take part in the mandatory lifeboat drill before the ship can set sail. After the drill is done, we'll meet in the Gold Pearl dining room for our first meal together. After dinner, we'll meet up again for orientation where I'll go over all of the many things we'll be doing this week. We'll review some things everyone should know about the ship as well. Then we'll talk about the basics of healthy eating and exercise. (They'll learn a lot aout that this week.) I really want everyone well prepared for the busy week we have ahead. Tomorrow is our first full day at sea and I'll get to teach my first big exercise class. (Oh, I can't wait!) What a week this is gonna be. I hope you'll join us, keeping up with our journey by coming to read my daily messages. Hey, I want you to have a weight-loss at the end of this week, too! After orientation, I'll have everybody head back to their cabins to get a good night's sleep. I'm telling you, they're gonna need it. Because tomorrow...we really get busy!
