Nope. I'm usually falling asleep while Jeopardy is still on and am tucked under the covers long before 9pm on workdays, until a bit after 9 when there's no work the next day. >Not getting sufficient sleep may contribute to your gaining weight. >Most adults need at least 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night. And get this, sleep deprivation can decrease the amount of leptin in your system. What's that? Leptin is the hormone that signals your brain to stop eating when you're full. I can't even remember the last time I got a total of 7 to 8 hours sleep in one night. Even before getting this cold/flu thing I would doze for an hour or 2, then wake up to hit the bathroom (And I stop drinking by 6pm), then it would take me a while to get back to sleep, then repeat this in another 2 hours. Most nights I never get back to sleep after that second pit stop and stay awake from 2-3am on. My doc knows about this but offered no solution except to relax, stop thinking and worrying about stuff, and just go back to sleep, and take a nap in the afternoon if I don't. He said it wouldn't help any to take a sleeping pill at 2-3am when I have to get up at 4-4:30am, anyway. Now with the cold and stuffed head and congested cough, I average about 5-10 minutes sleep per hour before waking up choking. Last week I would head back to bed, even if I couldn't sleep, after Ed went back to work, but he's home this 3-day weekend and *he* has it now, so instead of keeping him awake, I just get up and wander around the house for hours. Today I've already been out of bed since 3am because of my near constant coughing. Sneezy Sue in NJ
