Guest guest
A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS Tuesday, 13 September 2011 I'm sure most of you have heard that one before. Oh yes, that old saying...a penny for your thoughts had been around for decades. Only thing is, with the rate of inflation, we should probably change it to...a dollar for your thoughts! LOL. But seriously, tell me, what are you thinking about today? Oh, you don't know how much E-mail I receive from people who spend most of the day drowning their feelings in negative thoughts. And because they're overweight, they don't shy away from telling me how much they hate the way they look and feel. Boy, now that's a lousy way to spend the day, isn't it? And if you spend day after day losing yourself in those kinds of negative thoughts, I've got news for you. You'll end up feeling well, completely lost. You'll end up becoming a very unhappy and sour person. Now tell me, who wants to live like that? Worse than that, when you feel this way, you're less likely to spend time taking good care of yourself. (Can you see where this is heading?) When you don't take good care of yourself, it leads to weight gain and, later, you could even end up having medical problems. And oh my, just think, it would have all begun with those negative thoughts. You have to remember that the thoughts you let find a home in your mind also play a big role in your weight-loss success. And that success will extend from your weight-loss, to your relationships, to your job performance and most important of all, to how you feel about you! That's why you have to work hard at turning your negative thoughts into positive ones. And I can hear you already thinking...Easier said than done, . Oh, stop it! From a personal standpoint, I really don't have time to get depressed. I have too much to do, too many people to talk to and too many people to help. You don't have time for mulling around in a state of permanent depression either. I want you to make a list of all the things you need to get done in your life. And while you're at it, please, don't stop to feel down or depressed. You've got too many good things ahead of you. Make that list and whenever you find yourself falling into a depressed state, whip that list out! Read it again, focus on your thoughts and on what you can do to make yourself feel better. Dwelling on happier thoughts and memories will help you do just that...feel better! It all boils down to the fact that you are in control of those thoughts in your own mind Okay, I already have my own list made out and now it's time to make a list just for you. You're not going to believe how easily you can turn those negatives thoughts inside your mind into...positive ones! Think about it.
