YOUR ORDER FOR JUST 50 CENTS!"

So there you are in the drive-thru of one of

those well-known fast food restaurants. (Hey!

What're you doing there, anyway?) But okay,

you've ordered yourself a burger, fries and a Coke.

Immediately, the little voice from the speaker let's

you know that you can get jumbo fries and a

larger-sized Coke for just an additional 50 cents.

Oh...such a deal??

"For an extra quarter,

you can have the jumbo-size bag of popcorn."

Or you're at the local multiplex, order a small

popcorn and the clerk at the concession counter

announces, "For

an extra quarter, you can have the jumbo-size bag of

popcorn." Gosh, they just keep throwing those

"bargains" your way, don't they?

But hold it. Here you are in this new year,

determined to drop 50 pounds or more and for an

additional 50 cents, you can throw your whole

calorie-fighting effort for the day out of whack.

(Still sound like a bargain?)

Come on everybody, if last year was not such a great

year for you when it came to losing weight, I want you

to be more determined to make 2012 the year you win

this fight! And to do that, I say stay away from

those fast food places in the first place.

Now true enough, some fast food restaurants

are serving some lighter fare these days and even

include a few salads that will fit nicely into your

healthy food plan. So, if you're visiting the Golden

Arches with the kids, it doesn't mean you've just got to order that

burger and fries.

If you're at the movies, stick with the small popcorn

and do not add any of that stuff they call "butter" to

it, either. (That so-called butter is actually artificial

butter flavored oil, nothing more.) And by the

way, if you're planning to have popcorn at the movies,

be sure to save some calories from earlier in the day

with your FoodMover so you can have it guilt-free.

do, too!

And that's to lose all of the weight you want and need

to lose. So, the next time a fast food or movie clerk

offers to upsize your order, very politely tell them:

Thank You but I'm gonna pass. I don't need to

upsize my order because I'm too busy working to downsize my body. So

I'll stick with the small popcorn.

Hey, with that said and a smile on your face, you can

feel good about yourself and put that 50 cents back

into your pocket!
