Guest guest
DREAM-A-LITTLE-DREAM Wednesday, 22 February 2012 So, how'd you sleep last night? Were you all nice and comfy, wrapped in your comforter, head nestled into your pillow? And...did you dream last night? It's funny. We can choose the subjects we daydream about but not with our night time dreaming. When we're sound asleep...we have no control over those dreams. REM, the last stage of sleep is when your dreams begin. Have you ever heard the phrase REM? (No, I'm not talking about the Seattle-based music group from several years back.) The REM I'm talking about is short for Rapid Eye Movement. See, when you go to sleep, your dreams don't begin right away. REM occurs in what is called the last stage of sleep and that's when your dreams begin. In a typical night, you dream for a total of just two hours. (Boy, I always thought my dreams lasted a lot longer than that.) Researchers don't know much about how we dream or why. But there are some common types of dreams everyone seems to have that follow a theme. For instance: Falling. Dreaming of falling is thought to indicate insecurity. (Hey, if that's the case, some people dream about falling every night.) Flying. Dreams of flying are said to indicate feeling in control or on top of the world. (Now, I like the sound of that one!) The Naked Dream. Oh, my! Dreams of being naked in a public place are said to indicate that you're ashamed of or have something to hide in your life. (Or maybe it just means someone secretly wants to be an exhibitionist. LOL.) Do you remember your dreams? Do you remember your dreams? Sometimes, we may have more than one dream a night. You can develop the ability to remember your dreams by keeping a journal near your bed and writing down everything about your dreams the minute you wake up. After a few weeks of doing this, the ability to remember your dreams will improve. Wanna know what I dream about? Well, I dream of you working hard everyday and reaching for your weight-loss goals. And the best part is, after 40 years of doing what I do, I've been blessed to see my dream come true...for so many of you! Dream of reaching your weight-loss goal and...make your dream come true. When you turn in this evening, I want you to dream-a-little-dream of your own. That you will reach your weight-loss goal and...make your dream come true. After that, I'm willing to bet, you'll be dreaming about flying because you'll feel in control and...on top of the world! Love,
