Come out Come out where ever you are....

Still hacking away with this cold I've had since the week after

Christmas. Sneezing and coughing fits all day and night, so sleeping

worse than before. Not much energy to even hang on the computer - I

just come out here first thing in the morning to do my daily deeds

and any moderating that needs to be done, do my exercise, breakfast,

then back to bed for a while. Doc says since there's no fever or

fluid in the lungs it's only a cold, not the flu or pneumonia, that

it'll run its course in due time. I'm just so sick of it already!

It's bad enough not having energy to do housework and running

errands, but I'm not allowed to visit the aunt in the nursing home,

either, for fear of infecting everyone there. It's a good thing she

has no memory left so she doesn't realize if anyone's been there or

not. The nurses know we've all been sick (Yeah, it's been passed

around between the three of us) but even if they tell her we called

she wouldn't remember.

Eating, and therefore weight, has been horrible. The first week or

so I had no appetite or energy to cook and lived on toast while the

boys ate whatever crap they made or ordered in and I gained 3

pounds. When I felt healthy enough to cook again the boys were sick

and I made lots of easy to cook fattening comfort food and gained a

few more pounds. As this thing drags on I feel less and less like

cooking so I've been opening a lot of cans, even when making healthy

things like homemade soup, but because of the salt continue to gain,

this time from water retention. The past few days have been a bit

better, food-wise, and I started February only 4 pounds higher than

this time last month.

If only this darn *cough* would stop so I can sleep I would feel

much better. Life sucks when you can't keep your eyes open.
