Guest guest
DERRIERE DESPAIR Saturday, 04 February 2012 Do I even have to tell you? For women especially, it's that one part of their bodies just about every-body wishes they could change. I'm talking about our behinds. Oh, go ahead and admit it, every lady wishes for a behind like J-Lo! But, as we all know, no two bodies are alike and there're just as many different-shaped behinds in the world as there are, well...people! But come on, don't despair...about your derriere. First of all, I want you to understand it better. Your behind, your glutes, are made up of three main muscles: the maximus, which is the biggest part of your behind; your medius, near the top of your hips; and the minimus, which is tucked between the first two muscles I mentioned. Oh, sure...the gluteus maximus gets most of the attention. It's that part of the behind that gets men to turn their heads when a shapely lady walks by. But it's the other two parts of your behind that do the really important job for your body. They stabalize your pelvis when you walk and help maintain your balance. Without them doing their job, you'd tilt from side-to-side, like you'd had a martini, or two, too many! LOL. Okay, raise your hands if you'd like to change the shape of your own derriere. Oh, my goodness, that many of you!? LOL. Now hear this: Up to 70% of the shape of your body is determined by genetics. The other 30%? Well, it would be influenced by things like nutrition, your posture, the amount of sleep you get and, (you knew this was coming), how much exercise time you put in! I don't believe so much in "spot" reducing, that is, changing the shape of one particular part of your body. But you can change the shape of your entire body, over time. Wanna tighten up the shape of your rear end? Well, here's where you begin. If you're overweight, the surest bet is to lose some weight...first. Follow a low-calorie food plan and make exercise your rear-end's new best friend. A good cardio workout will be essential to reducing the size of your backside and your entire body for that matter. This mix of eating right, cardio and toning workouts will help nicely shape that tush of yours. You may not end up with a derriere like Beyonce's. But...don't despair because, hey, you can tighten up that deriere and look absolutely fabulous in those jeans of yours, baby. No "butts" about it!
