So we weren't the only people nutty enough to marry on a national

holiday? Cool! And 20 is a nice round number. Congratulations to him!

He said he married on the 4th so that he wouldn't forget his

anniversary.

A woman who used to babysit me when I was a child said the same thing

.. . . and I wondered how they could *ever* forget their anniversary

because they shared the same birthday and chose that day to get

married. Oh, and the date? December 25th.

I guess it saves money when it comes to presents, though.

Birthday, Christmas, and anniversary all on the same day?? Nahhh, I

wouldn't want to do that. But, have the whole country celebrate each

anniversary with fireworks? Now, that's cool!

:~)

Kind of. When he was healthier, it meant we never got a private

anniversary celebration. He'd always make some agreement for us to

spend the day with his best friend, B., and B.'s hideously awful

girlfriend. Then I'd be told, " I asked you and you said okay. " Those

were probably good lessons for me in important things like selfishness

and unshared expectations, but they were difficult lessons.

Now I get him all to myself on the 4th but he usually ends up spending

the day sleeping anyway because he's so low in energy. We used to

light little fireworks together (camellia blossoms and the like) and

the last batch we bought (I think it's been three years ago now?) is

still sitting in the closet in a bag, waiting for him to feel well

enough to use them (if they're even still good after this many years.)

Considering the nature of his conditions, I honestly may as well just

throw them out -- the chances that they are going to get used are so

slim.

Well, I guess you could call my throwing away a perfectly good terra cotta

plateful of red cabbage sprouts because I thought they were moldy an OOPS.

Especially when I thought so the second time I tried red cabbage sprouts. I did

have a bad batch of the red cabbage sprouts, though--I have concluded that

someone must have sneezed on them or handled them...

I was beginning to think maybe it was the terra cotta plate--but I tried

sunflower sprouts in it a couple weeks back and they worked just fine, and I

have China Rose radishes going right now. Methinks they are going in a salad for

supper tonight...
