Guest guest
It really wasn't a feeding frenzy (as in the past could have been) but my mother's birthday was Friday and college-boy got home for a week's vacation so we had pizza and cake to celebrate. No I did not have to have pizza or cake, certainly no one forced me or coerced me or anything. I just made a conscious decision to go off-P for that period of time. I could certainly feel it that night and the next day! Scale up a touch, which doesn't surprise me, more sodium retention or anything than actual fat gain, but still... a gain is a gain in this a loss is a loss world and I *hate* having to re-lose any amount. Measurements this morning show -4 inches in the past two weeks, for a total of 64.5 inches gone overall. I'll take it. It's all about perspective. I have a week until I go away for a week to see my hunny. This will be a milestone trip in itself. While this marks our 12 year anniversary of knowing each other and what, maybe 8 of the girlfriend/boyfriend relationship, I've never taken/spent a full week there! And, I'm doing it again in May!! We like to talk that our relationship is moving forward and I do have a promise ring, that when I can tell him I can move there and make it permanent, he will move it to an engagement and marriage (I was told that a year'ish ago) Anyway. All of our visits in the past have been for long weekends, in the 4 day range, you know...? I am excited and nervous!! Not nervous about us getting along, bored with each other or anything like that, but nervous about staying OP that long "in his element more than mine" In the past, I have worked like a lunatic to lose xx amount of pounds and then go see him for a weekend and between the travel-stress, travel-retention, etc I have gained 5-7 lbs during that weekend to have to turn around and do it all over again. Now that I am on this program.... this plan.... I am anxious, nervous and curious to see how things will go. With Medifast, it's pretty simple, you follow the rules, eat 5 of their meals a day and 1 of your own "lean and green" meals per day and you lose weight. In 9 weeks, I have lost 26.2 lbs, or an average of just under 3 lbs per week (they say 2-5 lbs per week is good) So, to go 5 & 1 for a week "on vacation" - it's been done - others have done it before me and others will do it after me - but I don't know and cannot say today that I will follow that 100% for a week with hunny. Maybe more like 4 & 2 or 3 & 3, but we'll see...... Anyway, I hope you are all having a great weekend and making plans for a wonderful new week! Onward and downward! Stay tuned for my OT, off diet world news (LOL): Other exciting news this week, middle son (DS17) got his college acceptance letter on Friday! WhOoP! He's been working diligently this past 15 months since moving in with me to get his GPA up to an acceptable level, so this is quite the accomplishment! While there is nothing wrong with community (or junior) college, he wanted to go to one of the local universities, so he's happy. He "had" to write a letter/essay and have teacher recommendation letters, but he got in LOL!! Oldest son goes to Washington State University (Pullman, WA) and middle will go to Eastern Washington University (Cheney, WA). Youngest is still two years in high school, but he's really grown to tinkering with cars, so I have him set to go to the Skills Center this summer for their auto tech program. He'll earn 1 credit at the high school for his efforts and then we can go from there. Senior year of high school, he may be able to take actual classes over there during the day for college credit, not sure at this point, but it's exciting on all counts :-) in WA 310 / 259.8 / 155? Hate when the scale goes up for any reason (and it seems to be far more touchy now that I'm older). Bah! > Measurements this morning show -4 inches in the past two weeks, for a total of 64.5 inches gone overall. > > I'll take it. It's all about perspective. Fantastic! It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into how you'll stay the course and that always helps. > Other exciting news this week, middle son (DS17) got his college acceptance letter on Friday!
