Oh, my! It's

the first day of JULY! And when we

Americans think of July, I'll bet you, the first thing

we think about is...the 4th of

July! And

with that comes food like barbecued ribs, potato salad

and homemade ice cream topping a piece of apple

pie...or blueberry pie...or, oh well, you get

the picture!

Today... PART TWO of 2012 begins.

In the meantime, on this first day of July, I don't

want visions of ice cream-topped apple pie dancing

through your head. Today, the only thing I

want dancing in your head is this fact: The first six

months of 2012 are over. This Sunday, today...PART

TWO of 2012 begins. (Hey, it's like starring

in one of those Hollywood sequels!)

I'm glad the second half of 2012 is beginning on a

Sunday, it just seems kind of appropriate. See, most

of you are off from work today so that means you can

probably find some time to take a little personal

inventory of how well you've done in the first six

months of this year.

How faithful were you to your food plan the

first half of 2012?

How faithful were you to your food plan the first half

of 2012? How did you handle the food-centric holidays

we've had so far this year? Did you give in to those

Valentines' and Easter candies? And, since I

mentioned barbecue earlier, how'd you do at the

Memorial Day picnic with your family? Half the

weekends of 2012 are gone and we Americans tend to overeat on the

weekends. So, think back...did you stay on program

every weekend so far this year?

And what about the exercise? Let's see, this was a

leap year so that means 182 days of 2012 are behind

us. Now tell me, have you worked out at least 182 hours this year?

Get it? I'm asking...have you devoted one hour to

exercise everyday this year?

Hey, you ate on every one of those 182 days, didn't

you? Well, that means you should have gotten that

body of yours sweatin' for a solid hour the past 182

days in 2012, too!

After you ponder those two points, how well

did you handled the food and how much

you moved that body of yours, I'd say it's now

time for...an attitude check. So how do you

feel about how well you've done so far this year? And

since you're getting ready to begin the "sequel" for

your 2012 weight-loss fight, how would you rate

yourself for the first half of the year? Just like in

the movies, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being

best...how'd you do? Be honest

now!

Look, if after taking your inventory, you rate

yourself at 6 or below, it's

time for an attitude

adjustment and to rededicate yourself to

reaching your weight-loss goal. You can do this but

you've got to stay dedicated and be consistent. No more

starting and stopping. It's time to wipe the slate

clean as you begin this journey toward the end of this

year and to reaching your goal! I'm serious,

everybody!

I want you working harder

on your project the second half of this year.

By the way, July

is my birthday month. I'll be

spending much of the month at home with my sweet

Hattie and working on a number of upcoming projects.

I want you working hard

too... on your

own project the

second half of this year. And that project is to make

sure that you're at least 25-30 pounds closer

to reaching your goal by the time 2013 arrives!

And oh yeah, one more thing, I want you to SKIP THE

PIE...IN JULY!
