Guest guest
Aekta, Thank you so much, I would really appreciate it. I have been on the phone since 8:00 am and feel as though I have gotten no where today. I did finally receive a number for the Board of Registration of Pharmacists and have left a message there. In the meantime, Noah's doctor has decided to treat it as though the pharmacy did fill the bottle with the wrong prescription and put him back on the old prescription at the higher dose since he may never have received it. It's all very frustrating. We all know what it's like to see our little ones in pain and not be able to help them. Thank you again, , mom to Abby (28 months) & Noah (4 months) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Hi , I am a nurse and work at our local hospital, I deal with pharmacisits daily. First of all, I would bring the container with the leftover medication back to the pharmacy and ask to speak with a pharmacist. Have them get out the original prescription and compare it with the bottle. This will put them on the spot and force them to address the issue. I think that legally they HAVE to correct the mistake and figure out the mystery of the medication. Stating that it was " probably mislabeled " is a horrible assumption. They have a legal and moral responsibility to correctly identify the medication. I would also speak with the pharmacy manager. Sadly, mistakes can be made, they are only human. Luckily it did not harm your child, but you need to know (for future reference) which medication it is. This is a good reminder to everyone to ALWAYS check the medication before you leave the pharmacy. I was one given penicillan....with a known pencillian allergy. You never know. Guest guest
Kezia, Thank you so much for responding. I did take the bottle up to the pharmacy and did speak with the pharmacy manager...which only enraged me further. He had the nerve to ask me if I could tell a difference in the color of the two!!!! I just looked at him and asked him, very sarcastically, if they add a powered form of the medication to the sodium bicarbonate solution, then get a very cloudy liquid, then add a flavoring which also adds COLOR! The pharmacist just looked blankly at me and said yes and put his head down. He told me all of the pharmacy's records indicated that the prescription had been filled properly and that the label was the only problem. He had already talked to his corporate in the whole 10 minutes it took me to get off the phone with him and drive to the pharmacy with the bottles. All he could say was he was sorry. Then to compound my frustration, I took Noah's new prescription to a new pharmacy to again, have the medication compounded and made into a liquid. When I picked it up I didn't receive a liquid, I received a box of packets of granules....with the directions and dose for the liquid medication! Thank god I paid very close attention to how the doctor broke down the mg per cc dose or Noah would have been getting 9 mg twice a day instead of 6 mg. And then the pharmacist had the nerve to argue with me and try to figure it out herself and told me that I needed TWO boxes! Oh, and she also told me that you can't make that medication into liquid form...which I have been using for the past 3 months now. So I have now encountered for the second time this week another incompetent pharmacy. I am beside myself at this point. I have finally found a lab in PA that will test the medication but they don't do private testing, so I have to be sponsored by an Attorney, a doctor or a hospital. Something to work on Monday after Noah's endoscopy tomorrow. Thank you for mentioning the possible legal side of them being responsible for knowing what they gave me. I am going to start looking into that. Sorry for the long post again, , mom to, Abby (28 months) & Noah (4 months) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Hi Deshea, Thanks for responding. How is Lucas doing? I know you went to Montreal, how did he make out? Sorry I never asked earlier but I have had my hands full with appointments and testing for Noah. Abby was just casted at Children's last week for her second brace which we will be picking up July 5. I remember telling you my concerns about Noah's back when we met and my concerns were confirmed. He does have Lumbar Kyphosis which I thought and also a 6 degree curve of Scoliosis which I had no idea of. Both of which Abby's doctor is going to watch closely over the next few months since I'm constantly in and out of there now with the two of them. He's hoping everything will resolve itself once he starts walking and his muscles mature. All we can do is pray at this point. Hope all is well with you and your family! ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Guest guest
Thanks particularly to Cha and " m3sings " for your encouragement. It is always appreciated! We are battling a sore throat at present and swollen glands.......not sure what that is about......Hans no longer has his tonsils???? As usual we will probably just ride it out with paracetamol. At least we haven't had any vomiting so maybe the med is working! Thanks again for your support. Guest guest
There are literally hundreds of jobs, including my favorite, trying to figure out which code is the right code to charge to. These people are invaluable to a busy dr. regards off topic Since we've all seen our share of medical professionals, I'm looking for some input. My husband gave up his career to go to nursing school and half way through has realized that nursing is more about charting and doccumenting that taking care of people. He's thinking of giving it up altogether. He's looking for career suggestions. The school advisor suggested he go into radiography, but there is no demand for that in this part of the country. Guest guest
Does anyone know the effects of meds during pregnancy to stop contractions and also steroids to mature the lungs while in the uterus? I had complications with both of my boys and the meds were used in both cases. I also tested positive for group b strep antibiotics given as well? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Re: measles/ ped. question It was the rubella (german measles?) that they tested my immunity for - and there's no way I would have taken the vaccine anyway. I'm now trying to figure out how I'm going to avoid the antibiotics if I test positive for Group B Strep...if this birth goes well, I think we will do home birth for any future kids, I'm so tired of feeling out of control of my body and my future baby's body! Guest guest
Sondra, you can't talk politics without mentioning who you like, and who you don't like and why. It would be nice if everyone was neutral about it but we're not. Personally, I don't get offended when people bash Republicans or McCain or Bush. What's to take personally? It's not about me. It's about them and their opinion and they're entitled to their opinion, as I am entitled to mine and you are entitled to yours. When people get hurt feelings around discussions of politics or religion, I have to wonder why they engage in conversations like that in the first place. I don't personalize anyone else's comments. I to want to learn from friend like peoples and not have of friend like people to fight. most list call this topic taboo because it usually does cause of fight words. so I to feel sharing in a neutral fashions to me means sharing from personal perspectives but not of what is of called bashing of a party of others views in a way of degrade of things. such as I to shared of my concerns on Sara but also added my thinking to her in a positive fashions too. I to not like to endulge in what is of maybe untrues of another candidate is of that propaganda ? I to think that is to mean what the media shares is of not of always true of a candidate? both parties do this and not like of that part of things. I to wish there was of a politcal law against that. sondra
Guest guest
Don I to agree to some extent but in my experiences of lists some do get of upset and then get of fight words and or try to force of their thinking onto others in ways that does cause of others to find upset. I to just not of want words to do that here. I to agree it is of okay to share from personal things but not want it to cause others to begin to turn of it peronal in ways that sounds of like a fight things as that does be to add stress to me over all.
