NOBODY'S FOOL

Sunday, 01 April 2012

April 1st! It's

that double whammy of the first day of the month

combined with one of the year's most naughty

holidays...April Fool's Day. Like me, most

of you probably played pranks on your friends at

school, on your siblings or even on your parents. (I

hope you didn't get a spanking for playing a silly

joke on your mom or dad! LOL.)

Did you know April Fool's

Day dates all the way back to 16th century France?

Did you know April Fool's Day dates all the way back

to 16th century France? The British are credited with

bringing the holiday to the United States. But April

Fool's Day pranks, though called different things in

various countries, is celebrated from Scotland to

Italy to India! One person pulls a prank on someone

else and, here in the U.S., the victim of the prank is

called an...April Fool!

So what can of shenanigans are you up to today with

the people you know? Do you have some April Fool's

day pranks planned? (Be nice. After all, today is

also Sunday.) And oh yes, I like to play

jokes on people, too. But only the kind that make

them end up laughing!

Now can I ask you something? Have you been fooling yourself? How,

you ask? Well. when you sit down to have a meal, do

you fill your plate with food and convince yourself

that it's really not that much? You didn't measure

your portions. You spread a more than generous

portion of butter on your roll. What about that slice

of pie with a scoop of ice cream you had at dinner? (Oh, it's

okay , because I cut back on other parts of

my meal.)

How many times a week

do you fool yourself into thinking you're eating fewer

calories than you really are?

Oh, yeah? Well, who're

you fooling now? If you were truly honest,

you'd admit the amount of food you had at that meal

equaled more

than half the calories you needed for

the entire day. Sure, this is just one example. But

how many times a week do you fool yourself into

thinking you're eating fewer calories than you really

are? Well, this much I know. You might be able to

fool yourself into

believing you're eating right. But there's someone

or, I should say, some-thing you can't

fool. Your

scale!

Look, it's the first day of April everybody. January,

February, and March are...gone! That's right

the first quarter of 2012 is behind us now. I just

hope there are fewer pounds on your behind as we enter

this new month.

Don't be an April Fool

today or any day when it comes

to how you eat.

Don't be an April Fool today or any day,

not when it comes to how you eat. If you haven't

gotten serious in 2012 about reaching your goal, it's

not too late. It's

just time! That

means playing closer attention to your food plan and,

oh yes, getting those workouts of yours in everyday,

too.

On this April Fool's Day, I want you to make up your

mind that when it comes to doing the things it takes

to lose this weight: You'll be...nobody's fool!

Love,
