Guest guest
I wrote about Jeanette DePattie in the past and her Fat Chick Works Out DVD. Well, I just noticed today that she does a live streaming of her half hour (?) class every Thursday and Saturday mornings! http://www.thefatchick.com/The_Fat_Chick/Streaming.html One small problem - at least for those of us who don't live on the West Coast of the US - She holds them at 8:30am PST, so for those of us on the East Coast, that's 5:30am. I'm up that early on Thursdays, but rarely on Saturdays. I set a reminder so I catch it tomorrow and see if it's as nice as her DVD workouts. For those of you who are just starting out with exercise, The Fat Chick Works Out DVD is wonderful. It starts out with a very easy 5 minute warm-up, then each week she adds another few minutes and new steps, each about another 5 minutes. The progression goes on for 12 weeks, but you can stay at any week for as long as you want. The home page menu gives you an over-view of Jeanette and her program, a link to learn all the steps, a link to the workouts themselves, and a section called "Giggles." I won't spoil the surprise, but I will mention she also sings in an opera company in real life. When you click the Workout link it takes you to a list of weeks, and you click on the week you want to do. On each week's home page you have the option to listen to a Talk, usually about a topic like wearing proper shoes to exercise or the importance of getting in enough water; Learn the Steps; and Sweat, which is the workout itself. By the end of the 12 weeks the total workout is around 40 minutes, counting warm up and cool down.
