Guest guest
IT'S ABOUT HOW THEY MAKE IT Monday, 02 January 2012 I know you hear me talk a lot about processed foods and why they're not-so-great for your body. But are you aware of just what makes a food..."processed?" Well, like the title of this message suggests, it's all about how they make it. Processed foods have been compromised by the addition of a number of items. Processed foods are foods that've been compromised by the addition of a number of items, most of them not particularly good for our bodies. That list includes everything from preservatives, hormones, unnatural genetic materials or even chemicals. And here's the thing, many of those additives are manmade. Gosh, who knows what some of those products are doing to our bodies, huh? Here's a question I want you to consider. Why do you think food companies add all of those unnatural things to the foods we eat? Well, get ready for the answer, (and I hate to be blunt), but...profit margin has a lot to do with it. See, the main goal of those food manufacturers' additives is to lengthen the shelf-life of the foods we buy. That way, their foods can stay on the grocery shelf a lot longer and still be considered "fresh." (Oh my, that doesn't even sound appetizing, does it?) How do you avoid processed foods? So, how do you avoid these processed foods? Well, for one thing, try to buy really fresh foods as often as you can. Some canned goods are fine but remember to read the ingredients label before you buy. When you see a bunch of complex ingredients, (on any food label), whose names look like they belong on a chemistry chart, put it back on the shelf! Try to avoid those pre-packaged meals as often as you can, too. It may take a little more time to make your own pot of soup at home but, for the sake of your good health, believe me, it's worth it. Not only that but...fresh tastes best, too! Your body is one of God's greatest natural creations. Remember, your body is one of God's greatest natural creations. Treat it right and don't fill that miraculous body of yours with things that have nothing to do with Mother Nature. Love,
