Guest guest
CAVE-INN Friday, 16 March 2012 Looks like we're head back to the Stone Age. LOL. Have you heard about the latest craze men are getting in to these days? It's called the Man Cave. In fact, they even have web sites and came up with a definition: Man Cave--Dedicated area of a house, such as a basement, workshop or garage, where a man can be alone or socialize with his friends. A man cave has all the creature comforts a typical macho man will need. Oh, really? Well, it sounds very nice, doesn't it? A Man Cave has all of the creature comforts a typical macho man will need. Let's see, there's a 55-inch big screen TV with surround sound. There's a pool table on another side of the cave. And oh look, he even has a little mini-fridge to store cold beers for when his boys come over. Have fun guys! But hey, wait a minute! Why should men have all the fun? You ladies out there, more often than not, work every bit as hard as your husbands and boyfriends. Hey, if anybody deserves a cave...it's you! Since those husbands have already snared the garage or basement, you can have the attic or a spare room in the house. And what are you going to equip your Woman Cave with? Well, let me make a few suggestions. Your own big-screen television with surround sound so you can workout to your Sweatin' To The Oldies DVDs. You'll want one of those little mini-stereos, too. So, when you feel like it, you can sit and listen to some soothing music to help erase the day's stress. You'll need a desk where you can place your personal or laptop computer to keep up with your friends on Face Book as well as my daily messages. And oh yeah, skip the fridge and keep a water cooler in your cave instead. That way, you'll always have access to an ice-cold glass of water. If you had room in your house for a Woman Cave, what would you equip it with? Did I miss anything? If you had room in your house for a Woman Cave, what else would you equip it with. And look, even if you don't have room for your own cave, try to create a designated space in the house just for you. A place where, every now and then, you can be all alone in your thoughts. Hey, you need that kind of down-time for yourself...everyday. By the way, I have a few Man Caves of my own. Any room of the house where I can snuggle with my sweet Hattie also becomes one of my little caves. My bathroom is another of my caves because I love to pamper my body, soaking in a nice bubble bath as the fragrance of my favorite lit candles fill the room. And oh yes, my office is my favorite cave because that's where I get to spend time talking on the phone or online...with so many of you!
