But I'll bet most of you can complete that jingle. Years ago, it was a TV ad for having a particular brand of coffee in your cup every morning. (Okay, it was cute.) Coffee is the morning beverage choice for many Americans. No doubt about it, coffee is the morning beverage choice for many Americans. Oh sure, they may have that glass of orange juice at breakfast. But many Americans can't start their days without that morning cup of java, too. Hey, one cup in the morning is fine. But I wouldn't want you drinking coffee all day long. But wait, I'm leaving the subject! See, I'm not here today to debate the pros and cons of having a morning cup of coffee. When that jingle pops into my head, I'm thinking, having a cup of coffee is not the best part of my waking up...yours either! In fact, the best part of waking up is that God has blessed you with a brand new day. That's right. Whatever happened yesterday, the slate has been wiped clean and you can start fresh on this new day. For instance, how was your eating yesterday? Did you go overboard on your food program and consume a couple hundreds calories too many...or more. Well, for goodness sake, I hope you didn't wake up this morning feeling guilty about the way you ate yesterday. That attitude can be self-defeating. Yesterday was, well, yesterday. Get it? As in past...over! Today is a brand new day, a chance for you to work harder at staying on program. See? The best part of waking up is you can get back on track, beginning this morning. Did you talk yourself out of working out yesterday? You did? Did you talk yourself out of working out yesterday? What's that? You did? Oh...I see. So tell me, how do you feel about skipping your workout? Yesterday, you missed having that feeling of accomplishment you get from working out. But it's not too late to get that feeling back...today! The best part of waking up is that you have a whole day ahead of you to reward your body and soul by getting your sweatin' time in! If you haven't already, make plans now for when you'll workout today. Some of you, (like me),wouldn't dare skip a day without your workouts. Now some of you ate right yesterday and have been staying on program everyday for weeks. Some of you, (like me), wouldn't dare skip a day without your workouts. For all of you, keep up the good work! You make me proud and I know you're proud of yourselves, too. And for all of you reading today's message, having been blessed with a brand new day, remember.
