Guest guest
I work for a law firm in San Francisco (I am a resident of Concord and commute every day) and have come down with occupational asthma as a result of being exposed to copious amounts of dry toner ink generated by copy machines being used in the suite next to ours. I am becoming more and more ill, and do not know what to do. File a Workers Comp claim? First, I have to find a doctor who will " think outside the box " and treat me as well as buttress my claim, because my current pulmonologist (who is part of my health plan) is being a total spineless wonder. She's too afraid to " get involved. " I need to know who to contact to help me before I get too sick to work and end up on a park bench somewhere - or worse. I have never smoked a day in my life, never had any problems with allergies, and then - wham. I tracked down the source of the odor that was making me gag, and the tenants who were running this illegal business were busted and evicted. They are gone now, but I seem to have permanent respiratory problems. I'm sure there is mold and other toxic stuff also, so I'm almost afraid to go back to work at all. I need the job, though. HELP !
