Guest guest Posted July 26, 2004 Report Share Posted July 26, 2004 Position Announcement St. ’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore, IndiaIn collaboration with the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, University of California, San Francisco (USA) announces the availability of the following post: Assistant Project Manager Job Description Assist the Project manager with the day-to-day operations of the international collaborative research project entitled “Examining Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) adherence in Bangalore, India” at St. ’s Medical College and Hospital per established protocols, including: Administration & Research The Assistant project manager (PM) will maintain the project office according to protocol. This includes copying and assembling packages related to recruitment of participants, participant consent, data collection, tracking and maintaining the project filing system. The incumbent will assist the Project Manager and the Investigators in maintaining project records according to both UCSF and St ’s protocol. The Assistant PM will maintain the tracking data base and will produce monthly reports of recruitment and retention numbers to be presented to the PM and Investigators. The Assistant PM will assist in preparation of all program materials, brochures, surveys, slide presentations, reports and research articles; conduct small and large scale international mailings; organize special events and meetings; take and distribute meeting minutes; and assist the project manager with the ordering of all necessary project-related supplies. Communication Assist the PM in maintaining ongoing communication with the San Francisco based team on a daily basis (via email) and a weekly basis (via phone). The incumbent will also assist in the communication with on-site and off-site laboratories to ensure timely, quality controlled lab results. Communicate with study investigators study statistician, local NGOs, and appropriate government bodies as necessary under the supervision of the Project manager and Investigators. Staff Supervision Although the assistant PM will not have any direct supervisory responsibility, he or she will assist in the planning and implementation of staff recruitment and training sessions In addition, the Assistant PM will participate in weekly staff supervision meetings, taking minutes which will be distributed to study investigators. Skills and experiences: 1. Graduation from any stream and a minimum of three years’ administrative experience, preferably in a health care or research setting. A UG diploma in a relevant field such as business or social science is preferred 2. Experience implementing and managing a research study. 3. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 4. Ability to work with diverse populations, castes, and social backgrounds. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the ability to cope with challenging situations. 5. Flexibility, patience, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently. 6. Proficiency in English and Kannada is a must. Knowledge of two or more Indian languages will be an advantage (e.g. Tamil, Malayalam, Telegu, and/or Hindi). 7. Experience with either Microsoft Office software (Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint) or other word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Experience with data management software is preferred. 8. Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and reliability Salary up to Rs.12000/-per month for the right candidate.
