Guest guest
What great advice, thank you. It's great to be in the loop again. I don't remember hearing so much about yeast on the group last year, unless I just didn't notice it. Now, it seems like most of us have that problem. I still can't find a Dr. who believes that yeast could cause problems in your body, so I can't get the diflucan. Do you take it once a wk.? For how many weeks? I want to know so I can try and keep asking! Is there any way to get in on the internet? I brought my last Dr. some info about candida from the group and she said that I can't believe anything I see on the internet. I'm so happy that you have a great guy, you deserve it! You sound like you are doing much better. I appeciate the girls that have really improved but stay on the group anyway to help us. You're the best! Love, Daryl RE..Daryl..hello to ya Hello there Daryl, good to see you here Yes, I am on a 'special diet'. Right now I am doing some detox methods. Some advice I would give to you is, do not overwelm yourself with all this. Start slowly. I would start with a 'healthy diet'. Cut out ALL SUGARS, starches(like breads and pasta,) milk products, and caffine. Daryl this will help your pain ease up. I used to be a chocolate-a-holic..LOL Now I do not eat or crave it. And cut out all junk foods like potatoe chips, pretzels ect. This may be really hard, but in the long run it will help your pain and Fatigue ALOT!! It did for me anyway. I mean if you cannot be really strict with the diet stuff, just slowly wean yourself off of things like chocolate.ect. If you want to know exactly what I eat, I can post it for you or email it to you. The 'Yeast Connection handbook is a great start for you.' I think he has a yeast connection cookbook which can give you some ideas on diet. I would also try one supplement at a time to see how you react to them. I would also recommend some probiotics and enzymes for you too. I get mine from the same guy all the time, and his products are awesome..See if you can go to a good nutritionist in your area? As far as the vaginal problems go, yes, they are MUCH better. I mean at one point I could not have sex for like 2 yrs.I still have some problems, but they are manageable. I used to get inflammed alot, and now I don't. I take probiotics regularly(helped alot). I found that the DIFLUCAN really really helped me with lots of my problems. I ahve a GYN who gives me a months supply. I take them for a week at a time. Sometimes for 10 days. Yes, I am being my own Dr, but it helps. ALSO, the GYN sometimes says it is YEAST, when it is bacteria. SO he gave me metrogel(a vaginal antibiotic), then I take the Diflucan. Get a GYN that takes a swab from you, and looks under a microscope to see what you have!! I still think that alot of this problem is Vulvadynia(comes sometimes with Fibro?)Kathy on the group here has been a great wealth of help and information! I would try and find a DR.(don't give up), who will help you(like the info. in the Yeast Connection book!)My new Dr. just gave me boric acid suppositories(alternative stuff..cost me $95.00...YIKES!!!), so I will let you know how that works for me. As far as a support system,well..this is why I come here. I have a really great boyfriend, but I think KNOWONE can comprehend all this, unless we live it. Pretty much I am on my own! So I understand how you feel. I also see a therapist, which helps. I fought the fact of going to one for so long! You should try it Daryl. Sometimes it is so good just to 'vent'. I think after the first year of me being ill, it is like knowone wants to hear it anymore. You gotta get it out!!(your emotions). Also I just found a support group that meets here once a month for CFS/FMS. I went 4 times. I find it depressing sometimes. BUT on the other hand I found a very valuable DR. thru the group, and some good alternative ideas, and a place where people understand.I have not mentioned implants there.(yet?) Is there one in your area? Maybe that would be good for you. Also I met some women who 'went into remssions', or are almost well. SO on the good note, I will rememeber them, and it will inspire me to go on! Also, I cannot express how important it is to STRETCH everyday!!! The first thing you do when you get up is STRETCH every part of your body. Then I do it one or 2 more times during the day. Take a small walk also, if you are able. I tell you (knock on wood), I ahve not have a pain flare up for over 2 months because of the stretching and walking! And belive me I would be in excrutiating pain for MONTHS! Anyway Daryl, I am babbling on and on...LOL. But I hope this information helps you out. Try to get into a routine..Make sure you get enough sleep(take something to sleep). Hang in there, you can improve!!! Go for it!! HUGS TO YA..dimonds P.s hope I did not 'over welm you..LOL

Guest guest
geeeezz I have having pc problems - please excuse the multiple posts. anyways - the 150's (mg?) I think are for the vaginal yeast while they do have 200 mg + made for other problems like dungal infections, etc. I have been on antibiotics for soooo long now that I insisted that she give me something at least for them since she gave me a weird look when I mentioned candida may be causing my health problems. I think my actual words after she gave me that look were " I have been on Freakin' antibiotics since September for this sinus stuff and if you are going to give me another round of them you HAVE to give me something for yeast!" at this point she said ok and gave me a 3 pill round of the 200 mgs - one every three days. took a while to get my insurance to approve it but they did. of course, it's gonna take a lot more than three pills to kill mine off but it did help temporarily. If you haven't been on antibiotics long enough to convince a doc to give them to you I would suggest your gyn. they should be able to do a quick look and test to confirm it and give you something - if not then I think there are some internet pharmacies that sell it. I would hate to do that as they are expensive but my sister doesn't have insurance right now and buys her birth control through one of them that sell a lot of different stuff. I think they take a lot of info and have a doctor review it and mail your rx's. I asked her and the one she uses is rxnow.com. I am not recommending them but I know they have stuff if you can't find a doc to give you an rx. sheeesh - you would think we are talking about narcotics or something. love shari
Guest guest
I bought boric acid at my pharmacy for about $5, got empty gel capsules and filled them up with the boric acid and used that as a suppository. The $95 kind your doctor gave you is probably stronger though...I wonder what the difference is between the two.
