Guest guest
My kids rarely get sick as well. I have a 7 year old and a 4.5 year old and neither one of them have ever had strep throat (unheard of nowadays) and my oldest son (who was fully vaxed to 15 months, but not at all since) has had an ear infection twice. They were treated holistically and they were traced to dairy. Once we removed dairy from his diet, there has not been an ear infection since. My other son, who was already off dairy, has never had an ear infection (and is fully unvaxed). They rarely get colds, the flu, etc and when they do it's very mild. They spike a fever, lay about and rest for a day or so and then they're fine. My oldest son was on one course of antibiotics when he was around a year old (and before I knew better) and my youngest has never been on antibiotics though he was on prescription meds for severe reflux (again, before I knew better). An arguement could be made for the health of my kids being related to the fact that we homeschool and, therefore, the kids aren't exposed to kids every day to get sick. However, we have a membership at an indoor playground, the kiddie habitrail kind, and we go at least every other day. As we all know, those are no more than giant petri-dishes so there's plenty of opportunity for them to pick up all sorts of nasties there and I do not santize my kids from head to toe after they're in there. We wash hands (for basic sanitary purposes) and that's it. Health like this is unheard of in kids nowadays. I have parents tell me that it's impossible for my kids to be this healthy. I rarely tell them that they're unvaxed, but they're right, it's darn near impossible for a vaxed kid to be this healthy. It's commonplace for an un-vaxed kid though. -- Roni Bergerson Independent Monavie Distributor Celebrate Good Health with Monavie! http://www.mymonavie.com/jandrbergerson/ -------------- Original message -------------- From: Lori Reisinger <lovethatbabybrendon@...> This is the same problem I am having.i refused to sign the form because it puts blame on the parents should your kid get sick.my dr. then refused to treat my son.He has not seen a ped in 4 months,he is now 6 months old.I am looking into a holistic dr. to see if they make you sign the same form.I redid the form in my words but they refused it too.they took it at the health dept. but not the peds so until i find someone who will not make me sign their state mandated for,we will go to the health dept or ER.So far my son has NOT been ill and I think it's because he has not been VAXED.Good luck. lightning30fwi <lightning30fwi@...> wrote: K my sons four month old appointment was today. Guest guest
I took my daughter two 2 peds to interview them - one in NJ where I usedto live and then again in MD where I live now. Those were the only two times she's ever been to a Dr. the NJ wanted me to sign the form, and I did not knowing any better, but never went back. In MD I told the ped here that I wasn't refusing vaccines, I was researching them more thoroughly before decided which ones I wanted to do, and on what schedule, and they accepted that and I didn't have to sign the form because it wasn't a refusal, I just told them I'd do it in time. When you look a physician in the eyes and ask why a baby needs s many vaxes when they are not school aged yet, and tell you'd like to research it, they really can't tell you no. I never went back there either, I keep them for emergencies. My dd is 17 months and she sees my chiropractor. I have been lucky so far, she's never been sick. But if I do need to go back, I had already discussed with them not vaccinating her until she is older. Plus she may have had a reaction to the vit K shot (she had trouble breathing and an irregular heartbeat afterwards) and they don't want any kind of allergic reaction on there hands... : ) On Jan 9, 2008, at 1:11 PM, babyelrayess@... wrote: > > What state do you live in? Guest guest
I signed the one offered to me, since I look at it as they gave their advice and I declined it. However, I turned around all the pro-vaccine statements first. Instead of " if you do not vaccinate, then your child could get sick or die, or others could " (don't remember the exact wording) I crossed out " not " and added something like " and they could suffer serious side effects, including death from vaccines. Guest guest
My current pediatrican is accepting of a parent's choice regarding vaccinations and doesn't give me any trouble because of not vaccinating. He has never asked me to sign a form, but if he did, I wouldn't sign the form and would find a new doctor. If it's important to you to have a " regular " pediatrician for your child, I would suggest attending a holistic mothering group, La Leche League breastfeeding support group, or a home birth support group in your area. You may even try finding an attachment parenting or similar online group for your area. There will most likely be mothers in the groups I mentioned that do not vax and have experience with doctors in your area. Also, you could try contacting alternative practitioners (homeopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors, etc.) as well, and ask them if they have any recommendations. Finally, you can check out the following group that I belong to: AP_Doctor_Referral/. It's an attachment parenting doctor referral group with a database of " good " doctors. Many of the people in the group either don't vaccinate, delay or selectively vax their children. You may be able to find a supportive doctor listed in the database for your area. Good luck in your search! I know it's not an easy one. My oldest is five and we've been through two pediatricians and three specialists already. ~ Mom to (9/20/02), (9/20/05) & Baby due April 2008 > > K my sons four month old appointment was today. Guest guest
Lori.....SEVERAL moms have recommended me to this particular place (Progressive Pediatrics) w/ Dr. Miles and Dr. Ceron. However, I could not get into here right away, there is a waiting list. I think she said it's a few weeks but they will call you if they have cancellations. I am not sure if they make you sign a refusal form, but I will find out for you. I chose not to wait to get into this practice. I was recommended to another center in Jax that also support decisions to not vacc. I have an appointment with her this week and heard she was wonderful as well. I will let you know the details on her as well. Cat In a message dated 1/9/2008 10:24:24 P.M.
