Guest guest
If all an attorney could do is make your employer hold your job for you, is it really worth it to fight to keep a job at a place where they obviously don't care about their employees? When I told the HR dept at work that I needed to take medical leave, I mysteriously got fired a couple of days later. I just took it as a sign that I didn't need to be there anyway if they cared so little about my well being. Just my two cents... I think that's what it's called - brain fog is terrible! Anyway, you can have your leave " protected " by FMLA and your employer has to hold your position as long as you're back to work within the time frame which I think is 60 work days or 12 weeks. I had to do it several times when I worked at State Farm. I was there for over 14 years and took FMLA leave several times. I ran out of protected leave and was terminated because of my illness. I'm suing for wrongful termination but it doesn't look promising. Anyway, I think I'm telling you everything right, but it's been a while and my brain doesn't work too well. You can ask someone in the personnel office or if you have a medical department they will know. Maybe someone else here knows more about it too.
