Guest guest
Hey Everyone! I had a bad experience with my breast implants that's what has brought me here. Now my friend wants to get them. It's her choice of course but I just want to get some feedback from you all about your experience. Mine was unfortunate because they made me look like a freak, they're out now. But if my friend does decide to get implants, I want her to hear all sides so I can give her an objective educated information. I will need to hear but personal stories and hear about scientific data to support claims of safety/not safe. Thank you all and have a great day A
Guest guest
A You are very fortunate that all your implants did was make you look like a freak.... They could have destroyed your life!! I am so glad you had them removed - it could have been so much worse. Please go to the files section of our group group and read some of the girls stories.. mine is under "Shari". This will help your friend make her decision - also - go to the pictures link and on the second page there are ones under my name. this is what my implants - saline - looked after removal after being implanted for 7 years. NASTY!!!! full of fungas and mold. One had plant lift growing inside that you could see little furry things in there! the only reason the left one looks clearer is because is leaked and deflated a few years before and had to be replaced but if you look closely at it there was moldy tissue growing inside the valve holding it open - this is the black stuff. Upon removel, both implant were proved to be leaking - one had 30 cc less fluid than was put in! I had a total of 4 operations due to complications - many girls here had more than that! I am 33 years old and have a 2 year old son and Monday I am starting on disability as I am no longer able to work beause I am so sick. Please read these stories and have your friend see them and the implant pics - this could save her life. Please feel free to email me at any time with questions or I would be very happy to talk to your friend about my experience. I hope you can help her!!!! If not then we will be here to help support her when things go wrong ... and they will eventually-I can promise that. love Shari H
Guest guest
Shari: Thanks for writing back to me. I appreciate that you cared enough to share your story with me, you're the only one here who has. I will pass your story on to my friend. My friend has nice breasts, they're just small (personally, small is GOOD, no floppy sag bags). She just wants to feel more feminine. If it were me, I would not do it, but it's not me, all I can do is share information. I'm sorry for your bad experience. I still look like a freak because now I have big awful scars. I believe this would not have happened to me if I did not go to a quack liar surgeon. My other friend went to a good doctor and he told her of the risks, all risks. Her experience is good, so far, she's OK. A lucky one........ A
Guest guest
, you can read all of our stories in the " files " section under " implant/explant stories " . I can't say that your friend will change her mind after reading them though - my sister in law has watched me get sick from the beginning and just got implants last month! She just couldn't believe that they were what made me sick. I pray that she won't get sick, but if she does, I definitely could say " I told you so " but I probably won't. I'll be there for her and will help her the way I wish someone would have helped me from the beginning. I didn't know it was the implants making me sick until 4 years later. Guest guest
I think small breasts DO look more feminine than implants! My implants made me look matronly, I thought...especially now that I see myself without them again. They also made me look heavier. From: arifazami@... Guest guest
Hello! I haven't had much luck with doctors in my area as far as helping w/ the mold and contamination issue. I have a rheumy that is very good and strongly believes that the implants caused my illnesses but he recommended me seeing an infectious disease doc to get my blood tested and cultured for whatever may be left over - I have tried two different ones and neither was willing to try to help me. It is hard to find a good doc who is willing to get "involved" so to speak about implants making people sick as it is such a touchy issue with some. I had mine analyzed by Dr. Pierre Blais in Canada who confirmed the mold and fungal contamination (it was already evident just by looking at them but I sent them to him anyways to get an official report to help w/ my insurance appeal.) i am still searching for someone to help as I really haven't gotten better - I think I have silicone left in my system from the textured shell of my implants as well as other yucky crap left in my blood/system causing me to be chronically ill all of the time. I was thinking about going to see Dr. Kolb in Atlanta as I know she does some specific testing and treatments on these issues. What area are you in? I would highly recommend that you see one of the doctors on the list that is familiar w/ the implant illnesses and how to properly remove them for explant. - I guess it depends on where you are and how far you are willing to travel. I wish I had gone to Dr. Fend in Ohio but I just couldn't afford the trip. My doctor was very nice and helpful but I am not sure he was as experienced w/ the implant illnesses as some of the others that are recommended. please keep me posted on how you are doing - I understand your concerns as i have a two year old also - he is almost three and I also want to get better for him!! shari
