Guest guest
well that really ticks me off - they just don't have a clue as to why the implants are linked to suicide, do they? Maybe they need to get off the low self esteem kick and realize that they are cuasing more suicides because of women just like us who are sick and can't find anyone to believe/help them. The part about people who get implants having more "risky" lifestyles is insulting. where do they get this crap? sheeesh. i just feel sorry for the sick women who don't find groups like ours that can help support them and feel as they have no resort but to take their own lives. I may have been in those shes too had I not found the group when I did and realized that I am not crazy and the implants are evil. Sorry - I just had to vent a little. I am just so very glad that the media is picking up on our problems like with Kacey and all of her appearances - the more exposure we get the more people will get educated and stop printing that crap. I am hoping that Colleen and I get to share our stories with MTV and maybe open the door for more media exposure to get as many people interested as possible and maybe something will happen to stop the lies of these doctors. love shari

Guest guest
my response... In reference to the segment in the Chicago Tribune - False alarms and the need to know, by Kotulak. To whom it may concern: I have read the above referenced article and was appalled by the contents in reference to the statements made about the connection with breast implants and suicide. I am not sure where the research came from that this psychologist came up with but by the statements made, I am assuming that it was from studies funded by the implant manufacturers. I do believe that there is a link to suicide based on the large number of women who get the implants then become extremely ill. I am one of the victims myself but was lucky enough to find many other women to contact to have a support circle. Many, Many people will and have become sick from their implants with various illnesses and are in a tremendous amount of pain. The lack of support by many doctors in the medical field doesn't help. We become sicker and sicker and you don't know why - you see doctor after doctor who assure you that nothing is wrong but you hurt worse and worse and it is a downward spiral. You are unable to work and have mounting medical bills. I was lucky enough to have several doctors in my area that are believers - many women are not that lucky. The suggestion that women who get implants "lead risky lifestyles" was extremely insulting. I am a wife and mother and lead a very normal "unrisky" life. Most of the women I have been in contact with are also mothers and grandmothers and also lead normal lifestyles. Where that came from I can only guess was from the implant mfgs trying to protect their money makers. We get implants for various reasons and we agree to it as our doctors have assured us that they are completely safe and harmless. When we get sick these doctors no longer want to deal with us as was my experience. They are making a large amount of money off of unsuspecting people that trust them, and many people are suffering and dying as a result. We are not all "risky", psychotic women suffering from a mental disorder or low self esteem. We are average people who want to look nice based on broken promises made by the people we are supposed to trust most. I found you article incredibly insulting to say the least, to all of the women like myself who are suffering and disabled as a result of implants. I also feel that with the popularity of these surgeries along with the dishonesty of the doctors performing them that eventually everyone will have this epidemic touch their lives in one way or another. Eventually a mother, sister or girlfriend, etc., will also become a victim as it is inevitable. I wonder what type of article you will post then?
