Guest guest
Never thought about it that way until you said that. I am a HUGE proponent of whole food supps to get vitamins the way nature intended; not fragmented and foreign to the body. When I take vitamins, my urine is bright colored. When I take whilefoods supps, my urine is unchanged proving how bioavailable it is. My whole family consumes them daily. I believe it is one of the reasons I am ph balanced; just checked it the other day. What brand of whole food vitamin C do you use, Holly? Sorry if you mentioned it already........Anita mensrea320@... wrote: I am wondering why it is suggested to take vitamin C that isn't in whole food form? From what I have understood (and this is why I am asking, b/c I may be missing something), the types of vit C that have been suggested are only parts of the vit C. Does that make sense? I would reason the best form to consume vitamin C is in whole food form, not taking one part of the vitamin and consuming that. That was my understanding w/all vitamins, they are better in whole food form. Over Thanksgiving I got a sinus infection. I hadn't been sick in a few years, not even w/a cold. I took 6 or so tablets of vitamin C in whole food form thru out the day for a few days. The infection was gone after a few days w/o antibiotics (that everyone said I would need!). thanks Holly **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Moving this over to OTVAX, so please respond there, but Olga who is on this group posted this to another group we are on,,, (Olga I hope it is OK to cross post) Revisiting the topic from a while ago. I've recently purchased amla-C natural vitamin C supplement which I'm happy with and wanted to share. We are finally ready to abandon our sodium ascorbate supplement that we've been using for a while during sickness. Amla-C has no synthetics in it: http://www.luckyvit <http://www.luckyvitamin.com/091401884009.html> amin.com/091401884009.html# Ingredients: amla berry and spirulina. There is also bigger size container: http://www.luckyvit <http://www.luckyvitamin.com/091401864025.html> amin.com/091401864025.html And powder form (vs tablets) http://www.luckyvit <http://www.luckyvitamin.com/091401864100.html> amin.com/091401864100.html It is WAPF-recommended. There is also another product made of camu-camu fruit/berry which is also very high in vit C. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks ok: http://www.vitaglo. <http://www.vitaglo.com/atl0010.html> com/atl0010.html (capsules) http://www.vitaglo. <http://www.vitaglo.com/atl0011.html> com/atl0011.html (powder) Contains only freeze-dried camu-camu juice in tapioca base. Any thoughts on this? Plus there is acerola powder made by Now - probably the most well-known vit C supplement among WAPF people: http://www.vitaglo. <http://www.vitaglo.com/740.html> com/740.html It is pretty affordable, but I personally never trusted this brand so I haven't tried it. Standard Process has Vit C supplement too. _____ From: Vaccinations [mailto:Vaccinations ] On Behalf Of mensrea320@... And can take much higher doses which seem to be necessary See the links I sent There are no blanket, black and white answers. I think for what we are using Vitamin C for, preventive and treating minor immune illnesses, we'll stick w/the whole food type. I suspect as w/other things, we (man) really don't know as much as we think we do. Holly **************Start the year off right.
