Guest guest
This is such a tragedy, but I think it also speaks to the fact that families are devastated and taken to the brink of their limits by this disorder. Let's hold that poor mother in our thoughts and prayers and all the other moms who are at their very limits. We were watching my 5 year old nephew yesterday so my sister and her husband could visit a church. My other sister was here and even though my nephew is very high functioning he will stem on slamming doors and turning lights on and off. My sister and I agreed that it's hard enough to tolerate it for a few hours at a time, but this is my sister's LIFE. It opens one's eyes. I would encourage any of you with friends who have children on the autism spectrum to offer to babysit for their child once a month. It would be the absolute best thing you could ever do for that family!
