My son has a gluten allergy and what I am starting to consider a

casein problem as well. What is the cause/etiology of these

problems? I have heard so many things and I am confused:

1. Difficult birth- shoulder dystocia, double cord around the neck,

prolonged apnea leading to what the doctor said was blood shunting

from his bowel to his brain and heart

2. First feed was 10cc of formula, even though there was colostrum in

the hospital fridge (don't get me started)- so no virgin gut, even

though there was no formula after that

3. Family history of allergies on both sides, gluten on hubby's,

lactose on mine... both of us fully vaxed and I had allergy shots

4. Genetic predisposition to vaccine reactions, basically someone

insulted me and said my children are from an inferior gene pool!

5. Or the one DTaP shot I allowed him to get at 6 months. How would

it affect his bowel? Does the virus/bacteria damage the intestine or

is it the mercury (trace) and aluminum that was in the shot?

6. One more- would my child have been autistic if I had not

discovered that he was allergic to gluten so early (10-12 months)?

Or is it just the other way around, you treat autistic kids with a

gluten/casein free diet? He is developmentally behind, because it

took me 4-5 months to figure out what the problem was.

Thanks again,

Oh and I had GD when I was pregnant, so I loaded up on carbs, a lot

of them, especially wheat products.
