Guest guest
Since you’ve had the shot afterward, you should be OK. I’ve never heard of anyone getting it twice! You don’t need the shot during unless you miscarry or do have an injury.. then I might be say OK. But for a normal, healthy pregnancy, you do not need the 28 week shot To know for sure about the mercury, you’d have to read the package insert. There WAS mercury in the shot I had with my last pregnancy. Nita, Mom to: 14, Jon 13, 10, 8, 6, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 2 and Isaac due Feb. 08 Learn from the mistakes of others. Guest guest
Was your baby Rh negative or positive? If the baby was negative, you have nothing to be worried about. I don't know how effective the RhoGam shot is. When I was pregnant with my first, they gave it to me while I was pregant. I didn't know enough then about it or vaccinations in general. I don't remember at what stage in my pregnancy it was. In hindsight I know I didn't need it then, as I had never had a child before so therefore didn't have any antibodies against pos. Then they gave me the shot again after delivery (my daughter is Rh positive). They tried to give me the shot again while I was pregnant with my son, but I declined as I had already had it 5 years prior. I told them that if my son was positive, they could give me the shot after I delivered (he is, and they did, but I'm not having any more children). I researched it a lot while I was pregnant, and the RhoGam shot does (or did) contain mercury, quite a lot of it, if memory serves. This was, hmmm, almost 7 years ago now. Bayer does make a shot that does NOT contain mercury. I looked into getting it. I would have had to order it in special as nobody stocks it, and ONE injection cost $800 (not covered by insurance, of course). I had no insurance at the time, so was paying for the pregnancy/delivery out of pocket, and just couldn't come up wit hthe $$ for that, so took the mercury myself after my son was born. Guest guest
Yes, that's the shot I got. The one from Bayer. I remember a lot of people who have austistic children got the shot (on top of vaccines) and the one they got had mercury in it. Guest guest
I was told if the blood mixed during my pregnancy due to some unforeseen circumstance that it would be too late to get the shot and then my future children would suffer. I hope it's okay to ask you this but I was wondering what happened to your baby Christian? If I have upset you, please forgive me. Guest guest
I was told the same thing but I was also told that it is very, very rare and the risk is not enough for the risk of the shot, imo. Esp. when you know it has mercury in it! Christian died of unpresented hydrocephalous, we had 3 days warning. It’s sad but it would be sadder still to not be able to share him with people. That took a long time to get to this point. HMMMM time for me to do some research. My dd is 17 months, vax free, dairy free, and I took morphine during pregnancy and she would up with dry patches on her back. I really think it's lack of fat and upped her fish oil and bathe her less during the cold dry months, but now I want to look into it more! I'll let you know what I find. They swore to me that the morphine was safe, but I don' think it was... If you come across anything let me know, I'll do the same : )
Guest guest
There was no mercury or anything and they said if she was born at that time (28 weeks roughly) then she would have breathing issues for a short time. The patches are her back may be excema. Sophia's are white and flat but a bit rough to the feel. If I use aquafor ointment they go away. I believe excema is really a genetic thing, although I read a ton of studies that said If I took probiotics during my pregnancy excema was greatly reduced. And I did and her excema is so so mild. I really don't think the morphine did anything to her and there could be an issue of addiction IF I took it all of the time. I waited 8 hours in pain without anything and I just couldn't take it. I had several shots as I started with the smallest possible dose. I was in the ER directing the doctors/nurses like I was one! they finally asked me what I did for a living! I was in pharma sales and just understood more about category (A B C) safety than they did. the doctor claimed morphine was a category b..it was C after I called and made the pharmacist bring up the product insert to me for me to read. I totally didn't trust them. - -- In Vaccinations , Crisanti <canyon13@...> wrote: > > > On Jan 3, 2008, at 7:38 PM, staceysarros wrote: > > > Lastly...lucky me I got 3 serious kidney stones during the last > > trimester of my pregnancy. Guest guest
Check out the one by Bayer. It doesn't have mercury in it. I totally researched this one. Ordering it is SO easy for the doctor to do. Don't let anyone give you any of the old ones. You can always check online or ask me and I will pull my files for the #'s to speak to the company directly. You will speak to a pharmacist who can tell you exactly what's in it. They can't lie. and you can also get a copy of the product insert and follow along as they direct you to the right spot. I am so sorry about Christian. That is heartbreaking. > > I was told the same thing but I was also told that it is very, very rare > and the risk is not enough for the risk of the shot, imo.
