actually I was also recently prescribed the plaquenal (sp?) also - has anyone had any luck with this? I was reluctant to take it as it is an immune supressant and i was having so many problems with the sinus infections that I was scared it would hurt that even worse... he prescribed that and neurontin

thanks shari

Shari, I was on plaquenil for 8 months. I was "in-between" rheumatologists and couldn't get my primary doc to write a refill so I'm off of it now. To tell you the truth, I never noticed any improvement or any side-effects from it. Now that I'm off of it though I do think I'm getting worse and I'm not sure why. Maybe it worked so subtly that I didn't notice it and now that I'm not taking it the symptoms are coming back?? I don't have a clue as usual.....sigh.....

Dr. Shanklin prescribed Plaquenil for me. I took it for a total of 100 days to cover my explant surgery. It was to keep me from having an immune reaction after surgery (after the tissue was disturbed). I posted a lot of info on Plaquenil before if you want to search for it....if you can't find it, let me know and I'll post it again if you want to read it.

Have your doctor write you a prescription for Minocin(antibotic), it helped my sinus. As I have had repeated sinus infections for about 2 years. Minocin helped my bones too.
