Guest guest
The Single Remedy (you've read these pages before - just excerpting) http://homeopathyinmaine.org/whatis.htm excerpt The third cornerstone of homœopathy is the use of a single remedy at any one time. In inviting a healing response, it can be confusing to the body, with unpredictable results, to invite several responses simultaneously. Although some practitioners have deviated on this point and use combinations of remedies, Hahnemann abandoned this approach after experimenting with it himself. http://www.homeoinfo.com/01_philosophy/basics/principles_of_homeopathy.php Single remedy Although there are three laws of homeopathy, this is more of a tenet of scientific integrity which then allows you to say classical homeopathy. By choosing to give only one remedy at a time, it is sure that you know what results it will have. By combining several therapies or remedies at one time, not only are you not sure which one of the substances is causing a cure, but you are unable to determine if there is a drug interaction which helps cure or even worse, an effect as a result of the two working against the patient. http://www.homeopathyhome.com/reference/articles/homeofaq.shtml The principle of the single remedy states that a single medicine should cover all the symptoms the patient is experiencing: mental, emotional, and physical. A classical homeopath would not prescribe one medicine for a headache and another for an upset stomach, he or she would find a single medicine that covered both symptoms.
