Hi Winnie,

Taking what you have said below one step further - what do you see as the

reason for all these allergies/allergic reactions in kids nowadays? I have

heard many of the arguments in favour of dumping dairy produce, wheat, etc.,

and I understand the nutritional theory behind them, but my own personal

opinion is that the allergies must come from something within the foods,

rather than the foods themselves. Thinking back to when I was a kid, we ate

loads of butter and cheese, drank milk every day, and ate bread regularly.

My grandmother often had scones, home made jam and thick cream and creamy

butter on the tea table, and she frequently cooked with cream and milk. She

baked every day and that included her own bread. My friends had similar

diets. And you certainly didn't' see the rates of food allergy - or any

other allergy, come to that - the way we do now.

I'm far more easily convinced that its chemical tampering with these foods

that causes the trouble, but wondered what you - or anyone else - thought?

Love, light and peace,

Sue

Hi, my advice would be to first stop all those meds as they will not cure

her. I would also pass on allergy testing, especially on a baby. My view,

having gone through this years ago, is that the child is allergic, rather

than the allergens being at fault. When you take the " blame the allergen "

approach, the focus is then on avoiding all those allergens--not a bad idea

for some of them, like dairy, but it's better to focus on strengthening up

the immune system as a way to become non-allergic.

Not sure if this makes sense the way I'm writing it but with the help of a

naturopath and dietary changes, my son got over these problems. He became

congested/inflamed ears/wheezing when he had dairy, oranges and corn. Soy

also was a problem. If you're not nursing your daughter, she is likely

having either dairy or soy formula. Is that the case? Does she eat any

solids? I didn't give mine solids that early but maybe that would be a

solution to get the dairy/soy out of her diet.

Definitely find yourself a good naturopath. I would not try to solve this on

my own. Where do you live?

Boy, Sue you must have been reading my mind. :) I feel the same way. The

problem too is these so called reactions could become hereditary and then

with each generation the issues get worse. I think too it is the fact we

are living in a chemical/toxic world outside of foods. These put a toll on

our immune systems which force our bodies to have a reaction because it is

fighting toxicity from other things and then it has to deal with foods we

put in our bodies that have toxicity. I know this has been talked about

before and the best thing we can do is grow our own, go to farmer's markets,

get organic and hope for the best. We just have to do what we can... I

still do go out once a week to eat and our processed foods are very, very

limited. Even though I feel guilty about it, I know we are doing so much

better than most. The health in our family has been wonderful too. So I

really can't complain. :)

Well that is my 2 cents,

Sue,

I've been told that it's the protein in foods that people seem to have the most

allergies to. But I'm inclined to agree with it being whatever pesticides, etc.

are on the foods. I know someone whose child is allergic to peanuts but not to

organic peanut butter (why she would test this on the child is a little scary,

but...)

had a great observation about the GE foods as a cause, especially with

corn being in just about everything. But what about adults who were not so

heavily vaccinated but also eat these foods? I don't have these allergies and

neither do my parents, brothers, husband, etc. I think the vaccines set the kids

up and then the GE food, or whatever is on it, is more than they can handle

before the immune systems are fully developed.

Either way, good to try to avoid it. I am constantly struggling to convince my

kids that the high-fructose corn syrup in drinks is bad, and I refuse to buy it.

They're at an age now that I get the " oh, Mom, everything's poison to you but

other people drink it all the time... "
