A long-running federal investigation into the orthopedic device

industry's kickback payments to hip and knee surgeons now has the

doctors in the spotlight. " We are going to be looking at those

soliciting kickbacks, " , the chief counsel in the federal

office that pursues civil complaints of Medicare fraud, told an

audience of hundreds of doctors, company representatives and

investors this month in San Francisco at the annual meeting of the

American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

4. Hepatitis B - Discrimination and Vaccine Damage.

A news report out of China reveals that any child or adult found to

be hepatitis B positive faces severe discrimination and societal

sanctions. News reports out of Japan reveal that mandatory hepatitis

B vaccination programs have transmitted hepatitis B infection. In

France, families of hepatitis B vaccine victims are suing drug giants

GlaxoKline (GSK) and Sanofi Pasteur for aggravated deceit and

involuntary homicide for the crippling and killing of children and

adults, who were required to take the vaccine.

5. Hepatitis B Vaccine - Doctors Could Face Prosecution.

In what was called a " thunderclap in the vaccine industry, " French

authorities have opened a formal investigation regarding a hepatitis

B vaccination campaign by GlaxoKline and Sanofi Pasteur in the

1990s. Some 30 plaintiffs, including the families of five patients

who died after the vaccination, have launched civil actions. British

doctors administering hepatitis B vaccine to infants could face

criminal prosecution if fully informed consent is not obtained. Civil

prosecution for damages is possible over 21 years later if the

injured survive as adults.

6. Contaminated Heparin Blood Thinner Recall.

WASHINGTON -- A manufacturer of the blood thinner heparin initiated a

nationwide recall Friday because some products may contain a

potentially dangerous contaminant. Contaminated heparin from a

different manufacturer has been associated with 19 deaths and

hundreds of allergic reactions.
