I went along to the lin Institute last night to hear what the

likes of Offit, and others had to say.

Here are some of my impressions of the event.

1. Most people attending were in some way getting educational

credits for courses they were doing in health care, ethics or other

stuff at Penn. Most people attending were professionals or students

who were pretty vested in towing the party line, to ensure continued

guaranteed income.

2 The panel members were all GODs . I felt so humbled to be in the

presence of these wonderfully credentialed and knowledgeable members

of the human race , who also love children!!!! we had to listen to

how many boards , committees, blah blah they had each been on in

their distinguished careers.

3 Each panel member gave a small blurb. Slides were not referenced.

we just had to take it as pretty much gospel that everyone was

dropping from smallpox, measles etc before vaccines. No mention of

disease rates before 1950, no mention of water quality, improved

nutrition, just the miracle of Vaccines. Lots of pictures of iron

lungs. A few anti vax cartoons .

4. Some mention of mandates, How in the 70s states that more strongly

mandated measles vex had less outbreaks.

How they had been getting lots of calls from concerned parents whose

kids are being put at risk from sitting in classes with unvaxed kids!

A lot of time spent planting suggestive seeds of free riders and

generating anger against parents who choose not to vax.

5. seemed to me that everybody in this ethics panel , concerned with

children's health were (a) all men, career men, ( all pro vaccine

and ©mainly all pro mandating vaccines. Offit actually said

that he feels religious exemptions are still an appropriate " pressure valve "

If this were a real debate then others with opposing views would be

allowed to contribute.

A great question put forward by a 'female' in the audience as to why

they talk about diseases and then vaccines as if they were

interchangeable and not vaccines as disease agents PLUS all the other

toxic stuff and that additional burden on the immune system. a lot

of fumbling for words at this point and the moderator stepped in to

explain that this was not the place for such discussions!!!!!!!! BOOOOOO

6. They spend a lot of time monitoring blogs to see what parents

were talking about.( MUST BE WORRIED)

Creation of a sneering condescending attitude to concerned parents.

Sneering at ' Kennedys'!!, Evidence of harm, of

which they said ,'there is none ', as all the 'real 'science shows

there is none!!

they suggested that only the EXPERTS could possibly understand all

the info and that parents who try to were naive and stupid.

The same female questioner then mentioned the vaxed vs non vaxed

homefirst kids and why couldn't they do that study? Moderator

intervened again and said that this was no place for this

discussion!!!!!!? ( Offit et al looked relieved) booooooo

Bought up parents who let kid die of diabetic coma because they

would not let them have insulin for treatment due to religious

belief, sort of linked parents who do not vax in the same negligent capacity.

7. Only mention of infectious disease names and vaccines. no mention

of concept of Systems biology where , immune dysfunction, allergies,

neurodevelopment disorders, diabetes, etc were increasing as vaccine

rates increasing.

to think that these health professionals can believe that it is

really that simple, just shows the current health educational system

as a total train wreck!!!

8 Timpane from the Philadelphia enquirer was there and he was

totally for the party line and was coming down on the side of 'facts

and science' ( government ok'd)not on the' vocal minority' who, he

mentioned ,only sent 1 out of 12 letters to his paper but whose

opinion had to be mentioned half of the time in the spirit of

fairness that journalists are bound by.

No mention made of the industry funded front groups that spend

their time writing to papers to tip the balance of opinion, or what

percentage of letters are from those who make their living from this

practice. vs mums, parents who have to write in between caring for children.

do not expect expect to get a fair hearing from the Enquirer.

9 Lots of talk about founding fathers, freedom and liberty and how

vaccines have allowed our society to exist in the freedom that it now

does, blah blah.

( reminded me of the pre Iraq war spin, appealing to freedom liberty

and the good American pride).

10. Joked about the mandates that they could get away with now

-being for health and medical professionals WANTING the 'privilege of

a medical education and putting others at risk by MINISTERING TO THEM

UNPROTECTED.

There was very little science, or debate . This was a propaganda

piece aimed at the party members who may be having doubts due to the

nonsense being printed in the press.

Looking forward to the next one at the end of the summer.
