Guest guest
Hi, My name is and I'm a new member. I have a seven week old daughter and my first immunization 'well visit' is coming up and I have a bunch of concerns. If anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatrician in Manhattan, I'd love your advice. I am looking for a pediatrician who is open to discussing alternative options to the standard vaccine schedule. I'm also frankly just looking for a pediatrician who can talk openly with me about it all since I don't know that much and want to make an informed decision - the pediatrician I have presently is a 'this is how it will be done' kind of doctor regarding vaccines. For any of you who are from New York City, my preference is for the pediatrician to take insurance and be accessible from the Upper West Side... but that being said, I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!
Guest guest
Hi, . Good for you to explore your concerns. It's a rare pediatrician who will be open to alternative options to vaccinating. Not to sound crude, but when you go to a butcher he will sell you meat. You very likely will not get alternative information from the ped, so will need to seek it elsewhere. That said, I'm sure there has to be someone out there to steer you towards someone good. Just make sure the ped knows you'd like to work in partnership but you're the boss (kind of tough to do as a new parent). And keep in mind that vaccines are not required for " real life " but for school/daycare entry in case the doc implies otherwise. You do not have to adhere to a schedule now for school in the future. Guest guest
Hi , I have been taking my kids to Dr. Michel Cohen of Tribeca Pediatrics. They are located on Warren Street, close to several subway lines. Neither of my boys (ages 4 and 2) have had any vaccinations to date and I have never received pressure from anyone in the practice. Based on this, I am pretty confident that they wouldn't have any issues with altering the standard vaccine schedule. Also, they do accept many forms of insurance. Good luck... Guest guest
Hi, You don't need to take your baby to a doctor if she isn't sick. None of my 6 grand babies ever went for a " wellness " visit. Vaccinating your child is the most dangerous thing you could do to her. Joe magnoliaparadiso <magnoliaparadiso@...> wrote: Hi, My name is and I'm a new member.
