Guest guest
I wondered about this because my only child with autism is the only one whose cord blood we collected. There was A LOT of blood lost on the bed, but my uterus also would not contract afterward, so I don't know totally where it came from. Guest guest
Food for thought - are they early clamping so they get more blood for stem cells? Early clamping is certainly one way to get stem cells when they cannot be obtained otherwise Hummm..........inspired by a wise friend Sheri ********** Comments from 2 list members Aren't you supposed to wait until the cord stops pulsing before clamping? I believe this takes somewhere between 6- 10 minutes. So, it would seem a 30 second delay is nice, but inadequate to protect as nature intended. Just my thoughts, Bari and another Actually, it's not... they are all too ready to cut that cord ASAP, not to mention in a C-section. Actually, those who really know their stuff (midwives, doulas, etc) will maintain that it's best to wait until the cord stops pumping, sometimes up to 5 minutes! This study is another one of those that one says, " It's about time!
