Guest guest
I am taking my son to the doctor this morning, and have a feeling he may have strep throat. I thought I would post and see what alternatives there are to antibiotics, if any. I have already been giving him a probiotic, vitamin C and grapefruit seed extract. Any info would be great. Thank you
Guest guest
Hi! I am a HUGE fan of olive leaf extract. Check with the health food stores in your area (try to obtain the liquid form for potency). This herb is mentioned in the bible for healing properties (olive tree). It has healed me of bronchitis on numerous occasions within 24 hours, my son of the croup overnight, my Dad of a painful gum infection within a few days, etc. My family always keeps a big bottle on hand. The better brands are expensive, but well worth it. > > I am taking my son to the doctor this morning, and have a feeling he > may have strep throat. Guest guest
Whenever one of us has had a sore throat we take Oregamax. Not one of us has had strep. It goes around my daughter's school at least 3 times a year. For some reason Orgamax and acidophilus work really well together to strengthen the immune system. You can read more about it at _http://www.nutritionworld.com/articles/a-oregamax.htm_ (http://www.nutritionworld.com/articles/a-oregamax.htm) Tonya **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
My 12 year old son has had strep many times and that is the one thing I feel too paranoid about not treating with antibiotics. I worry about rheumatic fever (which my father in law has). There is also a condition called PANDAS which affects children - they get strep induced obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and it can get very serious. From what I understand, it is an autoimmune response where the antibodies fighting the strep attacks a part of the brain causing the OCD, the same way it confuses the heart as the enemy and creates rheumatic fever. One of the ways that I knew my son had strep is that he would start to show OCD symptoms prior to the strep and fever, and after antibiotics it would clear up. I would love to hear if anybody has information about this. Strep really freaks me out! I'm too afraid to treat it naturally. My son has had strep about 6 times. Thank you! Guest guest
active Manuka honey from New Zealand - can get at Whole foods, Wild Oates.....it is effective against the streptococcus bacteria and also gargle with apple cidar vinigar....dilute with water. I use both for myself all the time when I get a sore throat (I am a carrier of strep, I got it all the time as a child and as adult - sometimes with no symptoms other than being run down) Not sure about the dose for a child....I take a Tsp every few hours of the honey and gargle with the apple cider at least 4 times a day...... Good luck, Vaccinations , " " <mlbarbian1205@...> wrote: > > I am taking my son to the doctor this morning, and have a feeling he > may have strep throat. Guest guest
Dawn, That sounds great. How do you administer it? How often? I will have to look for that. Thanks, Sharon > > > > I am taking my son to the doctor this morning, and have a feeling > he > > may have strep throat. Guest guest
Hi! I wouldn't feel comfortable giving dosage info, but the health food store gave me a print out on dosage instructions for that particular company's brand. My bottle comes with an eye dropper and I usually take 1 - 2 droppers full a few times a day for whatever ailment (more if very sick). It usually knocks the illness within 24 hours too! > > > > > > I am taking my son to the doctor this morning, and have a feeling > > he > > > may have strep throat.
