Guest guest
I have mentioned here before that my first son received vaccines up until he was supposed to get the one year vaccines. We stopped vaccinating him because he was getting sick after every one. When he was three, he was diagnosed with asthma and allergies. We took him to allergists and a homeopath. While the homeopath was great, we couldn't afford her and had to stop. I found a WONDERFUL doctor who I am falling in love with. He is an environmental physician, doesn't recommend vaccines, and warns his patients about fluoride, he is even on some board to have it removed from the water. Anyway, he took the time to talk to Colin and me to get a complete history and he then went on to say that he wanted to conduct tests to determine whether or not there was some other underlying cause for his asthma/allergies. He ran a multitude of blood tests and took nasal and throat cultures. He then recommended allergy testing. We went to the allergy appointment and the allergy technician told me that the doctor wanted us to get to him asap to discuss Colin's bloodwork. We went to see him two days later and he said that Colin is very deficient in magnesium, has one of the markers for celiac (it seems like he is ruling that out now) and hypothyroidism. He said that he was very concerned about his levels because he had never seen a child with levels like Colin's. He took more blood to repeat the tests to make sure that it wasn't some fluke and sent us on our way. When we went back for the second round of allergy testing, he came over to talk to me. He said that Colin's thyroid levels were still bad and that he was at a loss. He said that he tested him for Hoshimoto's disease and he said that the checked his hormone levels to determine if it was an issue with his pituitary gland, they were fine. He said that the vaccines that Colin received could be responsible for the thyroid damage, but he wants us to see a pediatric endocrinologist for a second opinion. I did a bit of research online about thyroid issues and I found that quite a few autistic children have thyroid issues, that really makes me wonder... Has anyone else had this happen? Anyone know of this happening? Sheri? Anyone? Sara
