Hi,

It is very heartening to know that there is a woman's task force at the

conference thinking about women's issues.

One of the issues that concern me is very endemic to India-- I don't know about

other countries-- and that is the issue of women sex partners of HIV positive

men getting infected in India just by getting married. Physicians and AIDS

workers are coming across scores of wowmen who did not know the HIV status of

their husbands-- got married and then got infected. There should be some

prevention policy whereby these women are protected from HIV and also some

policy whreby these women get shares of their husband's property or assets if

they are unknowingly infected by their husbands.
