Guest guest
Hi Anya & nne! I am one of those silent(mostly) members who really enjoys the group here. Learn a lot from this group. I have a small purfume business just beginning to sell those locally but have been involved in aromatherapy for more than 10 years. Really fun too to hear how to pick blooms and other plants to make our own fragrant componets, which is a little harder to do in NW Washington but still want to see if I can find some plants to macerate. I do love to hear of all the lovely blooms that those in tropical climates are finding to extract for fragrance. So Thanks for all the lovely info. Fragrant Blessings! Guest guest
Hi, I'm Sara in Berkeley CA. I joined last week and perfume is something I'm doing for *me*. I'm a cold-process soaper with two part-time jobs in real life, and got bitten by the perfume bug when I read the Mandy Aftel book last month and then went to a perfume-making demo she ran at a local shop. This is new territory, sort of. Blending is familiar, EOs are familiar.....what is less familiar is absolutes, concretes, and handling alcohol. I'm used to making perfume oils in jojoba, so alcohol is new and uncharted territory. I'm having problems finding inexpensive perfume bottles that aren't the black-capped 1/3 oz roll-on bottles, that don't look like medicine bottles, and aren't overly dramatic. I'm also looking for ambrette seed EO for less than a king's ransom It was with great relief that I found this list! Cheers, sara
Guest guest
> We are getting a lot of new members - possibly from some of the > publicity that is out there right now. > > Please, if you are a new member, introduce yourself and tell us how > you heard about our group. Okay! I'm one of the new ones - a home-schooling mother of 5 (9, 7, 4, 2 and due-in-15-days) from British Columbia. I love (especially when people remember to trim their posts ;-) and came to this group after hearing about it on TAV (Truth about Vaccines) which I heard about through CHP (Classical Homeopathy for Pets) which I heard about through RawFeeding which I joined after my young, healthy (or so I thought) dog died suddenly of multiple organ failure. I was already suspicious of vaccines (and allopathy in general) and only my eldest has had any vaccinations. He had a strong adverse reaction to his 18 month MMR shot and I haven't been back to the clinic since. I've never been totally opposed to the idea of vaccines, and I have been quite concerned at times about all the horrible diseases they are supposed to prevent, but my fear of side effects has kept me from actually getting any of my kids injected. Now that I'm learning about homeopathy, I feel much more comfortable declining all vaccines. I truly believe that classical homeopathy is the best way to build and maintain health. I am currently taking an introductory course on homeopathy and my 4 year old is under the care of a classical homeopath. He's doing much better, and I look forward to treating the rest of the family as finances allow. Laurel-Anne
