Tell him you are delaying all vax for now til you research more ...you keep

saying this for each visit.

At least you may not get the lecture or the boot like we did:)

I second Winnie... don't go. All " well baby visits " are for is to push

vaccines. You'll know if your baby is well or sick, and if they truly need

medical intervention or just have a case of the sniffles. NO one knows our

children as well as we do. Save yourself the stress and don't go. Find a

good chiropractor instead, and take your baby to them at least once a month

or so.

On that note, I can't speak highly enough of chiropractic care for our

children... I rate it up there with oxygen and food/water. My son, who was

born on Monday evening, received his first chiropractic adjustment

yesterday. He had been having horrible cramps and was screaming as he

worked to push all his meconium out... after the chiro adjustment, he's been

pooping like a pro! No more screaming or cramping, and he's as peaceful as

can be. I saw the look of instant relief on his little face as the

chiropractor very gently eased his spine into alignment. I am lucky... I am

so tightly associated with my chiro that he made a house call just for my

new baby and stressed-out hubby! EVERYONE should have a good chiropractor.

Congratulations ... we've been waiting to hear from you.

I also couldn't agree with you more... I love my chiro too.

Congratulations, ! I've been wondering how it all went. How lucky for you

that your chiropractor is so caring. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

What did you name the little guy?

So Happy for the update . I saw you post yesterday, and really wanted to

ask how you were. But I was afraid to ask, cause you didn't mention anything,

and I would hate to have brought up the subject if something had gone wrong. I

had been thinking about you for days, hoping that it all went good. Great news.

I'm pregnant with our second and just plan on telling ours, that I

respect his professional opinion, but that I ask that he please

respect the utter heartbreak and hell that my husband, son, and I

have gone through this past year. And that this is a decision that

we've thought long and hard about.

Personally, I wouldn't leave it so it sounds like it is for debate. " We're

not vaxing. " " Nothing you can say will change my mind " and if he insists:

" I can always find another pediatrician " . Even better, call ahead of time

and declare you're not vaxing and ask if he can accommodate that for the

visit today. If he says no, find another pediatrician.

With my 3rd child, I called and asked whether I should schedule a 2

month check-up as we were not planning to vaccinate to continue with the

2-month vaccinations. The nurse said, " What are coming to the check-up

for? " So, I didn't go, and went to no well-baby check-ups with child #3.

With children 4 & 5, two different pediatricians, I called ahead in the

same manner and they said come anyway. Both gave me the Dog and Pony

routine on vaccinations and I politely told them that I was planning to

wait.

I would not have been so brave with my first child to not go.

I suggest that you spend some time thinking through what you are doing.

This is just the first in a life-long list of times that you will

disagree with an " expert " , " peer " , " in-law " " family " on how you raise

your child. as long as you are pure in your heart in your motives and

desires, the truth has a way of graciously being understood.

Exactly - don't discuss, don't explain

Just stick to your statement like a mantra.

Remember you employ them.

Can you imagine pediatricians on an email list asking for help to

find a tactful way to disagree with you?

I've been telling our Ped we are 'delaying' for 2 years. He supports

that. Delaying forever is the reality but like you I don't want a

lecture.

Even telling him you're delaying can bring on an earful. Unless you are

concerned, why go? I skip them myself unless I'm worried about something or

he had some issues that will require follow up from birth.
