Guest guest
Shari That's awful! I am so sorry. I am so grateful you finally did get them out. But to think you could have been saved so much pain and suffering! It is getting harder and harder for me to think well of any of the medical community. Your ps was very negligent in not acting upon the info from mentor and a big ass to boot. I don't know how he can live with himself knowing what he knew and seeing how sick you became. Please don't let it eat you up. Anger and resentment will only make you sicker and he will sleep as well as always!! I would be tempted to write your ps a letter however. Wouldn't you love to just send it to all his patients? I know it is hard to accept negligence. My husband died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm because the ER doctors and the residents didnt " think " he was having a dissection even though they already knew he had the aneurysm. They didnt bother to order a cat scan or an echo or an mri which would have shown the dissection. He could have had emergency heart surgery and would have had over an 85% of surviving. Instead they told us he had a pulled chest muscle and sent him home to die. Well I was so angry. I filed a malpractice suit and won. But that didn't bring my husband back or my kid's father. My sister who was a nurse--and has saline implants--thought I should have dropped it, because docs aren't perfect and make mistakes. They had an incredibly cold attitude that night as I questioned them pretty intensely on what was wrong with him causing the chest pain if it wasn't a dissection. I often wonder what that doc thought the next night when they rushed mike back in in the ambulance and he arrived there dead. When I filed the lawsuit, the residents hadn't even written any notes of their exam from that night. They wrote them 3 weeks later and made up that they ordered a cat scan and he refused. They also said he left the ER against medical advise. All total lies. That hurt more than their negligence. My lawyer said it would only help our case as their lies would alienate the jury. As it turned out, they settled out of court. At any rate, I just wanted you to know that I understand how it feels to be treated with negligence, lied to, and to suffer greatly as a result. Guest guest
Wow Kathy, that makes my issue so lame. I didn't die because of the doctor's actions, I just got my feelings hurt! I'm so sorry about your husband. Doctors need to LISTEN to their patients and their families. We know what's " normal " because we're with them every day. I'm so sorry they didn't listen to you.
