OT - Beautiful new baby boy!

Hi everyone,

Please pardon the off-topic post, but SOOO many of you have emailed me

asking for an update that I thought it would be much easier to post this to

the group.

First, thanks to everyone for your concern, your heartfelt emails and all

your advice. I did FINALLY go into labor 42 hours after my water broke! I

tried everything from homeopathy, acupuncture, accupressure, etc. My

midwife finally talked me into trying caster oil, which was my last resort;

the next step was the hospital for induction, and I was NOT going there.

Allopaths scare me to death, especially when it comes to childbirth. I

drank 6 oz of caster oil total (a bottle and a half!) over three doses in

orange juice, then decided to do some stairs to really get things going. I

went from NO labor at all to baby here in 2 hrs and 14 mins! First surge

(HypnoBirthing speak for " contraction " ) was at 6:03 p.m.; baby was born at

8:17 p.m. It was fast and intense but easy and not painful... I do hope I

never have to drink caster oil again though! LOL

Anyway, is 6 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. He's the perfect

picture of health. We had a beautiful water birth and have been at home the

whole time. Birth day was Monday, April 21, 2008.
