Oh my, what an interesting thread! I am a walking poster boy for sinus infection. I might as well just wear a sign around my neck: sinuses stuffy and swollen. Do I think it has anything to do w/ my arthritis? Not directly, but I concur w/ that it probably points to an immune system gone haywire. my 2 (non-professorial!) cents -- __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hey Bev: I've used Flonase with good results. It doesn't have any of those nasty side effects like reg. sinus sprays (no jitters, etc.) and safe to use with my thyroid problems. I believe they even prescribe it for children. It certainly is not cheap, though, that I do remember. It takes a while to work, no instant gratification but much safer. I do, however, prefer the Nutribiotic nasal spray with grapeseed extract. I don;t get that recurring sinus infection problem anymore - and I had one for years before. Babs RA 8/98, DX 4/99, AP 11/99 200 mg. Doxycycline 112 mcg. Synthroid 2 mg. Hytrin Mestinon Vits. & Misc. Guest guest
Hi Gloria: Someone on the list told me about Nutribiotic Nasal Spray but forgot who. I got it at the Vitamin Shoppe. There is a website you can go to and find out where they may be locally, or order directly on line. www.vitaminshoppe.com Yes, you are correct re: the fungus thing and I am a firm believer that it was the cause of my CHRONIC sinus infections. Gloria, I used it only for a bit and I can not believe I have not had a sinus infection since - about a year now. It's natural, no harmful side effects, or anything like that. Not a prescription. The grapefruit seed extract is a bit citrusy, of course, but boy does it work for me. Cost me about $8 for the bottle which I still have. Hope this helps! Babs RA 8/98, DX 4/99, AP 11/99 200 mg. Guest guest
, I have had very dry lips and cotton mouth too. What a good description of it. Also thirst that is hard to quench. Is this a herx from the anti fungals? Bev .. With this last her, I have been fighting dry, dry lips and cotton mouth - cannot get enough liquid to satisfy the thirsty feeling there. This is the sogrens at work, I think. Eyes don't seem dry at all. This is one of the strangest diseases.
Guest guest
We have been in the same situation. our son has experienced sinus problems and has had several nose bleeds during the night. we have put a humidifier in his room in addition to the one we have in the house and it seems to help. Sinus problems It seems I have read about others experiencing illnesses like strep while on the protocol. My son became ill after starting Valtrex. And it may or may not be related to the die off. But I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with sinus infections, stuffy sinuses, post nasal drip, and related? And if so what seems to help? We are giving Zyrtec nightly to help with these symptoms, with unsure results. Dr G had started him with a decongestant that kept him up for DAYS! It seems I also read somehwere that persons with Chronic fatigue syndrome have sinus problems. Thanks for your wisdom! Guest guest
Hi , Sinus issues are very unpleasant and since you once have it it's very hard to get rid if it. I personally had first sinus infection when I was 29 y old and since then I have it couple of times every cold season (to my biggest surprise so far so good this year!). As solution I take Flonase spray every day. It's mainly for treating allergies but it gives good relieve if you have stuffy nose. Do not expect results next hour or so, it might take couple of days. I take it all winter even if I feel god just as prevention. Another solution: when I had first sinus infection my doctor in addition to antibiotics prescribed some eye drops. It worked like charm!!! He explaind me that ophtalmoligists develop eye drops in much faster rate and these drops are good for sinus infections as well as for eye infections. Well, this doctor was old and very nolegable and in addition it happened in Israel, not here. But I think that Flonase spray might be the good solution for your little one. Good luck Regina " meljackmom <a_bracale_mitchell@...> " <a_bracale_mitchell@...> wrote:It seems I have read about others experiencing illnesses like strep while on the protocol. Guest guest
it seems since I have been on remicade, I've had bad sinus problems and a chronic cough now... is that normal? ****Editors Note: You should contact your doctor immediately. You may have some infections going. It is not normal at all to get a chronic cough. How long should I continue > the sinus treatment? ==>Hi Lori, treatments will assist and help relieve some symptoms, but only building up your immune system with proper diet plus supplements is going to cure any candida-related problems, dysfunctions, symptoms, etc. You will still get well even if you don't do any treatments IF you follow the diet carefully and take " all " of the supplements - they all work together so do not leave any supplements out. The rule is: If you give your body what it needs it will heal itself! " The best to you, Bee
