Guest guest
I've been lucky to have wonderful doctors on my side. They have all been VERY willing to send info & records to my lawyer (I've used her since my first denial.) Dr. Shanklin even sent a letter and packet of info on my illness. He's been really cool! My lawyer's fee is 25% of the lump sum, whatever that will be. I'm just praying it won't take as long to get a hearing as they are telling me. I went in this morning to sign papers and they said it could be 8 months to a year!!! I told her what a bad situation I am in financially, and she said she'd send them an " expedite letter " explaining my situation and hope that speeds it up. I am also writing my congresswoman a letter and attaching copies of my notices of foreclosure on my home and repossession of our cars. I've heard they sometimes can call and get a case pushed through. At this point, I'm willing to try anything. So, you get $117 a month? or is that the amount of food stamps you get? Thanks for the info! It is the 'norm' to get denied 2 times. I am on SSI because I did not work enough on the books(i have been working for 15 years)!! It finally caught up to me..UGH!!! What I make in one month is peanuts! Guest guest
If you get SSD and it does not come up to the minimum that SSI would cover, then you also get SSI. And you get Medicaid also. You can apply for food stamps, you get a discount on your phone, you can get help for utility bills, etc. Lynda At 03:12 PM 4/21/2004, you wrote: >I've been lucky to have wonderful doctors on my side.
